REQUIEM (2020)
Este "Requiem" supone el regreso después de trece años para este proyecto canadiense afín a sonidos black atmosféricos. El ritmo del álbum en líneas generales no es muy alto, pero la larga extensión de los temas permite a Evillair dibujar paisajes de desolación y soledad. Los temas que contiene este "Requiem" se desgajan en un black de guitarras distorsionadas que ofrecen un plano oscuro y siniestro a las composiciones, ayudando a completar las sensaciones de soledad y abatimiento cuando las voces hacen acto de presencia, como una descarga de muerte y agonía. Los riffs se complementas a la perfección con una batería, que aunque programada logra ofrecer cierta calidez a la música de este álbum. Evalliar también sabe añadir un plus de melodía a su música, sin apenas abuso de teclados, sino que esta melodía se presenta con acertados arreglos en forma de guitarras limpias en segundo plano, o de riffs que acaban por cobrar protagonismo en medio de la maraña de sonido. Estamos ante un trabajo de black atmosférico, que es capaz de ofrecer un producto destacable, inspirándose en los orígenes de género pero sin descuidar la oportunidad de ofrecer un sonido más claro sin que ello aleje su música de las sensaciones de soledad y muerte que emanan de un álbum como este.
