 THE ANTICURRENT (2023)

Segunda entrega para este combo germano australiano, centrado en un sonido black/death de temática espacial, en donde se centran más en las partes metálicas propiamente dichas, dejando un tanto de lado las líneas ambientales y atmosféricas tan abundantes en otros proyectos similares, sin que ello sea impedimento para que logren ofrecer sensaciones cercanas a la soledad y al vacío. Ya en su anterior obra "Solar Spectre" nos habían regalado un viaje por el sistema solar del todo apetecible para quien guste de esas sonoridades dantescas en cuanto a trasmitir sensaciones todavía no experimentadas. Este "The Anticurrent" es un paso mucho más decidido en pos de un viaje interplanetario, llevando al extremo y explorando nuevos horizontes. El sonido se muestra mucho más contundente, con un paso firme de la mano de una batería de ritmo constante, sobre la cual se van superponiendo caspas de sintetizadores, teclados, algunos arreglos de guitarra que se acercan  terrenos melódicos, todo ellos con un componente entre le black y death que suena poderoso con un trasfondo de soledad y de inquietud que nos permite viajar como oyentes a mundos rebosantes de silencios y de miedo a la desconocido. Para este trabajo se han rodeado de un elenco de vocalistas que dejan su impronta en cada uno de los temas de los que se ocupan, siendo el apartado musical de lo más variado, manteniendo de alguna forma un componte crudo y directo en las voces, aflorando en estos terrenos la vertiente más death del sonido, pero que se pueden ver traspasadas a otras más limpias o incluso el aporte de las de procedencia femenina dotan al sonido de un mayor empaque, logrando un contraste importante con lo propuesto por Xenoyr. Todo ello da como resultado un álbum de un sonido inmersivo, tremendo en cuanto a las sensaciones que logra transmitirnos, capaz de atraparnos con su tono lineal muchas veces que con  ligeras variaciones en su trasfondo logra trasportarnos a loa confines del universo (8,4).

SOLAR SPECTRE (2020)

Primera entrega para este combo en donde podemos encontrar ocupándose de los instrumentos a Tentakel de la banda alemana de black vanguardista Todtgelichter y a las voces, colaboraciones aparte, a Xenoyr de los progresivos australianos Ne Obliviscaris, dando como resultado un álbum de black metal de temática cósmica. El álbum lleva por título "Solar Spectre" y consta de diez temas, nueve de los cuales vienen denominados por cada uno de los planetas del sistema solar, más una versión de un tema de Killing Joke que cierra este trabajo. El sonido de Omega Infinity tiene como base el black tradicional, nadie puede poner eso en duda, pero la procedencia de Tentakel y sus influencias del black vanguardista, crea un sonido que se sustenta más en sonidos de batería, dejando en segundo plano las guitarras. El sonido se muestra contemplativo, no haciendo ascos a recurrir a patrones repetitivos, pero que encajan perfectamente en un temática de vacío y soledad en la inmensidad del cosmos. Hay que destacar también algunas partes ambiet que permiten recrearnos en esta soledad, creadas a partir de teclados y sintetizadores que siempre presentes, si que en ciertos momentos alcanzan mayor protagonismo y sirven para romper entre las partes más rápidas y directas,  pero siempre conservando esa sensación entre la melodía, la melancolía y la soledad, con otras más intimistas. Las voces de Xenoyr añaden un plus de agresividad y contundencia a la propuesta, con un vertiente más directa y las colaboraciones de Christian Kolf y de Marta Braun permiten añadir por un lado registros más limpios y por otro una nueva perspectiva en cuanto a voces femeninas. Un álbum repleto de sensaciones centradas en el infinito del universo, pero que no cae en elementos demasiado convencionales dentro del ambient, sino que su música recoge influencias como el vanguardismo o el death.
