 MALOCCHIO - THE SECEN TONGUES OF Δαημων (2022)

Nueva entrega para los helenos que siguen agrandando una trayectoria sin apenas maculas y que en este nuevo lanzamiento perfeccionan lo ofrecido en su anterior "Psychic Death - The Shattering of Perceptions" de 2018. Acherontas hace tiempo que se podría decir que juega en otra liga en cuanto a sonido black, si que es cierto que sigue teniendo ciertas reminiscencias al black escandinavo de los noventa como influencia innegable, pero no es menos cierto que a cada paso que dan siguen profundizando en su bagaje y raíces black helenas, al tiempo que siguen evolucionando es aspectos de su música, como pueden ser el aura mística o ritualistas, sin descuidar un elaborado entramado de voces que le dan un carácter único a este "Malocchio ​-​ The Seven Tongues of Δαημων", Un álbum que a pesar de una duración contenida se muestra denso e inmersivo, con unos riffs poderosos que buscan influencias cada vez más claras en el black griego de los noventa, sonando profundos, casi que épicos en ciertas secciones, acompañados de una atronadora batería que se despacha a gusto en las partes más rápidas y directas, sin apenas fisuras, sin descuidar el aporte de una atmósfera más elaboras cundo la música baja su intensidad. Pero sin lugar a dudas un aspecto que dota a este álbum de una identidad propias es de las voces con un abanico de registros nada desdeñable, por un lado tenemos el factor clásico, con voces profundas y  agresivas en clara consonancia con la vertiente clásica que se presupone en el género , pero que se muestran también inconformistas, realizando una labor soberbia a la hora de incorporar registros limpios y patrones que tienen que ver con una vertiente muchas más ritualista, aproximándose a terrenos repletos de oscuridad y frialdad, dotando al resultado final del álbum de un aura mística que se funde perfectamente con la propuesta de black clásico que cada vez le debe más a la escuela helena. PSYCHIC DEATH - THE SHATTERING OF PERCEPTIONS (2020)

El octavo trabajo de los griegos es una muestra más de que Acherontas es todo un referente en un sonido black en donde las referencias ocultistas y místicas son pare fundamental del conjunto, partiendo de los principios del black más ortodoxo pero retorciéndolo y llevándolo a un terreno en el cual este black se ve despojado de casi todas sus señas de identidad. Los ocho temas que integran este "Psychic Death - The Shattering of Perceptions" son una invitación a entrar en un mundo oscuro, profundo e inquietante. Acherontas lleva muchos años refinando su fórmula y una vez mas echa mano de una propuesta en donde el oyente se ve sumergido en un mundo putrefacto y ocultista, en donde la velocidad y la contundencia de algunas partes son anecdóticas y donde sin embargo la variedad y sobre todo la riqueza de su música es seña de identidad. El álbum se sustenta en inspirados riffs de corte melódico que se ocupan de tejer una maraña sobre la cual V.P.Sorcerer escupe sus voces de una manera en la cual los contrastes tienen un papel muy importante, ya que es capaz de pasar de los gritos más agresivos y profundos a pasajes de voces claras, casi que hablados que acaban por acentuar el tono místico de todo el álbum. Un álbum que fluye de forma perfecta, alternando la velocidad con los medios tiempos, aspecto que ayuda a crear un caos en el sonido final, en el cual el oyente se ve atrapado en un paisaje de locura y desesperación. Excelente el trabajo de guitarras con fraseados variados, yuxtapuestos y aguerridos, muchas veces capaces de añadir un plano épico al conjunto. La atmósfera conseguida es perfecta, inmersiva, con muchos pasajes instrumentales que dejan fluir el conjunto hacia terrenos progresivos o atmosféricos. Está claro que Acherontas ha recogido lo mejor de la influencias black de antaño, con un exponente claro del black heleno, pero que ha llevado a un terreno propio, repleto de matices, en donde prima la atmosfera final y las sensaciones ofrecidas, postulándose como referentes claro de este género.
