VALLUM


Desde la siempre interesante y fructífera escena catalana nos vuelve a llegar una nueva banda, en este caso Vallum, en activo desde 2014 sus cinco componente se las arreglan para facturar un post-black que suena realmente espectacular, bien es cierto que contar para la grabación con los Moontower studios siempre es garantía de fiabilidad. Vallum se presenta como un quinteto de sonido compacto, en donde los sonidos post están muy presentes y en con un primer álbum que en su poco más de media hora logra trasmitir sobre todo desesperación y pesadumbre, de la mano de un gran trabajo a las guitarras, que logran sonar agresivas pero que también cuentan con espacio para acercarnos a sentimientos más intimistas y melancólicos. Las voces se adentran en terrenos más directos y agresivos, con cierto gusto por la desesperación y la oscuridad. La banda viene de realizar ya en estos dos años de trayectoria, algunos conciertos por territorio nacional y alguno más que está al caer como podemos comprobar en su página de facebook, en su página de badcamp también podemos escuchar algunos temas de este "Insight".

UFONAUT (2016)
El camino de Entropia se muestra lento pero seguro, en estos casi diez años de existencia "Ufonaut" es su segundo larga duración. Sin lugar a dudas "Ufonaut" supone un paso al frente en la carrera de los polacos, sin pasar por alto que un estilo como el black de la mano de elementos post e incluso con otras influencias dentro del sludge no es un estilo muy respetado y más bien un tanto repudiado por los puristas del género. Entropia lejos de dejarse amedrentar ante ellos han parido un álbum realmente completo y con una importante dosis de madurez con respecto a anteriores obras, sobre todo a destacar en este "Ufonaut" la contundencia y agresividad del sonido, que contiene elementos de diferentes estilos como comentaba anteriormente pero siempre desde una vertiente más directa, abandonando un tanto más los medios tiempos para centrarse en trasmitir mayor desolación y pesadumbre en las composiciones. Otro elemento a destacar en este álbum sin lugar a dudas es que Entropia se distancia de bandas más afines al género del post-black, gracias a la incorporación de ciertos elementos de tintes vanguardistas a las composiciones de la mano de alguno samples incorporados de manera acertada a lo largo de todo el álbum. Tampoco debemos de pasar por alto el elevado nivel alcanzado por Patryk a la batería, a destacar la versatilidad en las composiciones e importante papel que realiza para dar consistencia al conjunto. En la parte menos lograda podemos hablar de variadas e interesantes ideas que a la hora de plasmarlas en las composiciones, en algunos lugares, no están del todo bien acopladas y resultando un tanto caóticas. In recent years, Doombringer has been responsible for some of the most unholy emanations from the bleak region of Poland. After several magnificent demos and 7” releases, Doombringer now unleashes its debut full-length, “The Grand Sabbath.” This album is a triumphant exaltation of darkness. The band, which features members of Bestial Raids and Cultes des Ghoules, has spent considerable time arriving at this point, and their dedication is manifest. Doombringer imbue the cacophonous intensity of Death Metal with the unconstrained evil of Black Metal, exploring the nexus between the raw, oppressive darkness of Goatlord and the ecstatic and transcendent evil of bands like Varathron and Mortuary Drape. The high level of composition is immediately apparent, and against the backdrop of the band’s tremendous songwriting is a tendency to enhance their sound with unanticipated sonic and vocal flourishes that accentuate the unique character of the songs. The use of varied vocal styles in particular is immediately arresting and provides a welcome departure from the usual monotonous vocal delivery of most other bands. To bring the album together as a whole, Doombringer sought Marko Marov to provide his uniquely demonic vision for the artwork. Regarded as a whole, “The Grand Sabbath” is a manifesto of the future direction of Black/Death and is destined to expand and epitomize the perimeters of extremity inherent in both genres.

EGLEDHRON (2016)
Primer Ep para Irillon, one man band procendente de Venezuela pero ahora afincada en México, siendo Rayner ex miembro de la banda Colombiana de death / doom Cóndor. El nombre del grupo fue tomado de un relato fantástico del escritor Lord Dunsany y el título del Ep, "Egledhron" proviene de una de las lenguas élficas inventadas por Tolkien para el Señor de los Anillos y cuyo significado es el de exilio. Estamos ante un Ep totalmente instrumental que se acerca a la media hora de duración, pero que en principio y por falta de tiempo después, no se le han añadido las voces que en origen iban a acompañarlo, en futuras lanzamientos seguramente las voces si hagan acto de presencia. Con lo cual nos quedamos con seis temas de responden a un black metal bastante sencillo con un claro patrón clásico. Rayner se erige en un buen compositor, cuidando las guitarras en cada tema, guitarras que permiten que su música transite por terrenos repletos de melancolía y oscuridad, sin dejar de lado la faceta más ambiental de las composiciones. Una primera toma de contacto con este proyecto que se muestra bastante interesante, capaz de fundir las influencias más primitivas y clásicas del black metal con un faceta más atmosférica, bien es cierto que se echa en falta un poco más de variedad en las composiciones pero creo que todo llegará a su debido tiempo. BARZAKH - INTERVIEW


Good afternoon, thank you very much for answering these questions, how's it going by Jakarta? 
Thanks and fine we wish you well also there.

1. Barzakh was born in 1998, at that time the training was Kiky, Yusuf and Rony, with a style that focused on black metal, it has been a long time since the band and after several lineup changes still active today with Getz and Agni lineup. At what point do you joined to Barzakh? And how was your integration group?  
I joined since the band stand.
I remain solid.

2. At any time did you get to be related to the original members of Barzakh ?. If I'm not mistaken all dead today, but what happened in their lives that precipitated the events that way ?. Is it for you a great responsibility to have to go ahead with the legacy of the band?              
We are always in touch and communication.
In our band who died two rony and yudi after that we are looking for new personnel.
Responsibility and the band is that we all continue to work    .

3. Although the band was created in 1998, it was not until 2001 that he released his first demo "From the Devil to Sin" and in 2004 his first album "Holy Heart in Hypocrite", two works that undoubtedly off the essence of Barzakh in sound, a sound is influenced by Nordic black metal from the mid-nineties, what memories do you have of this time regarding Barzkah? and How was the process of writing and recording these albums?

Do you also appreciate this evolution in the sound of Barzakh on his latest album and how you face the recording of this album compared to previous?.
Of course we appreciate.
Each album in the recording process is almost the same but the album In A Meaning The Note is simpler than the previous album.
We try to strive for good results.

6. In 2015 comes the issue of split "6 Ways of Hell" where a handful of bands of black gather and death metal in Southeast Asia for just over forty minutes smashing the listener with his compositions, How did the possibility of making this split with other bands? does it respond to the comments above, ie the evolution of the sound of Barzakh more towards death, what you felt like it do this shared fairly aggressive bands and nearby sounds death? Do you keep some kind of contact with people "Suicidal" "Goresluts", "Savage Deity" "Horrific Disease" or "Shadowmirth"'.

Yes, our music, we are still heavily influenced Mayhem, Dissection, Crdle Of Filth, and some influence of metal music in the 80s, 90s a little too swedish metal and metal scandinavian
We try to influence the focus of a wide range of metal music for maximum results.

8. I was going through your head right now bands like Genocide Shrines, Draconis Infernum, Rudra, Infernal Execrator, noncombustible Impiety, or those closest to you Vallendusk, how do you see the extreme metal scene in Southeast Asia?
They are nice .

9. I guess the scene in Indonesia is moving at a fairly underground level but with a significant number of fans, is very difficult to give a concert in a place like Jakarta? You contemplate the possibility of acting outside of your country?
For the concert in Jakarta and in Indonesia remain.

Barzakh is natural immortality.

We did not take a theme like that.
Our lyrical themes tend to be the life of the black and the lives that are less fit.

12. I understand that the intention of the band is ready soon be launching a new album, how advanced is the release of this new album?
We always try to create as you wish, but the work that we are judging others.
Continuation of our new album, the songs we wanted to release labels from Europe, America.

ENDARKENMENT (2016) 
Último Ep hasta la fecha de esta banda australiana alrededor de la cual existe todo un misticismo de la mano de la prácticamente nula información que se puede obtener sobre ella. "Endarkenment", editado originalmente en formato vinilo son dos temas extensos, juntos casi se acercan a la media hora de duración, que se decantan por un black metal pesado, asfixiante y rodeado de un aura bastante oscura. En un primer momento el oyente se puede ver totalmente superado por la atmósfera opresiva, una atmósfera que cae como una losa sobre el oyente y que lo desborda con unas composiciones de riffs pesados y voces cavernosas a la par que una ambientación muy lúgubre. Es cierto que este Ep se comienza a apreciar después de varias escuchas ya que de entrada parece que un riff continúo ocupa todo la duración de las canciones y que las voces aparecen como lamentos cavernosos de ultratumba. Después de algunas escuchas se comienza a percibir sutiles cambios de registro, pero sin perder un ápice de la atmósfera cargada y podrida que acompaña a este lanzamiento. (8,2).
