HYMNS OF DEATH AND DELIGHTFUL HISTORIES OF HATE (2019)

La banda colombiana Dark Wisdom lleva ya unos años entregando material de forma regular y este "Hymns of Death and Delightful Histories of Hate" es ya su cuarto álbum. Un álbum de nueve temas que ofrece un sonido black bastante eclético, alejado de los estándares del género. El álbum comienza con una intro de corte melódico y limpio bastante emotivo, dando paso a continuación un sonido black sustentando por un buen hacer en guitarras que saben sacar en todas las composiciones un aroma de melodía. Sin embargo aunque estamos hablando de black metal, todos los temas forman un ente en si mismos, relacionados entre si pero con suficiente personalidad propia. A lo largo de "Hymns of Death and Delightful Histories of Hate" podemos descubrir como su sonido black se ve impregnado de una forma totalmente descarada por sonidos heavy y rock más clásicos, casi todas la estructuras se nutren de estas influencias, de esta manera los temas siempre ofrecen un plano bastante limpio. Sin embargo hay muchos momentos en que estas influencias más clásicas se ven superadas, por la velocidad y la garra, echando mano de una batería mucho más presente y unos riffs mucho más rápidos, pudiendo vislumbrarse algunas pinceladas de lo que podríamos denominar black sinfónico. Las voces por su parte están escritas en castellano y en ingés, optando por un vertiente agresiva que a veces transita por terrenos más propios del metal si más. Este "Hymns of Death and Delightful Histories of Hate" es todo una declaración de intenciones en cuanto a lograr sacar adelante un álbum con un sonido que integra elementos black son otros mucho más clásicos de forma coherente, teniendo su punto fuerte en la variedad ofrecida.
