ULVEGR - ENTREVISTA

1. Tell us a bit as Ulvegr created in 2009? What you will not find Ulverg offers in your other bands?

ULVEGR was created by me in Autumn 2009.An important aspect is that in ULVEGR I do everything by myself whereas in KHORS and in YGG we do music together.

2. Your previous "Где крови льдяной шторм (Where the Icecold Blood Storms)", and pointed great things, but this "Arctogaia" simply is brutal, with a very classic sound while also pore modern How was the writing process Arctogaia how has the group's sound evolved between these two jobs?

 When I was working on “Where the Icecold Blood Storms ” I would like to get raw sounding that fits the conception of this album but on “Arctogaia” I’ve chosen that kind of mixing which suits that album the best. “Arctogaia” album was recorded in two studios: drums was recorded on Vip’s Studio and everything else was recorded in Dark Essence recording studio. There are Astargh and Odalv who helped me in this recording.

   

3. What can you tell us of the Ukrainian scene, with bands as special as Drudkh, Ygg, Nokturnal Mortum, Khors, Hate Forest, etc? Are there really a scene?, Why all give the feeling of an attachment to their land and traditions ?

There is no scene at the moment. Everyone goes their way almost without interfering with each other. But respect for our land and traditions - is the blood flowing in our veins!

4. What does Ulverg? Do you feel more comfortable writing and singing in your native language to English and why this decision?

When I planned ULVEGR I decided from the very beginning the lyrics will be on Russian. English can’t fully describe all the images I narrate in my lyrics.

5. What can you tell us about the theme of the songs? Is there a relationship between the cover and the music? What elements or pagan myths inspire you when composing?

My songs are permeated with the cold of blazing stars, with the breath of cloud forests, with the fury of consciousness storm. The music, lyrics and artwork – all this parts of a whole with the certain atmosphere. And I’m inspired with everything surrounds me.

7. Artogaia has been edited by Music Hall, how did the idea of working with them?

To tell you the truth I don’t remember how it was 

8. How is it being received by the public and the media of the latter work, are you satisfied? Have you done concerts, have some planned?

I don’t care about the response of people and media. We played one show only during Kolovorot festival and I don’t have any plans about live shows. I do not pursue the goal of to play live shows. But if there are any offers that will be interested for us then anything is possible.  

9. What is for you the black metal? How do you see the scene black scene, and specifically in Ukraine? Any new group that you may recommend us?

Black Metal it’s not just a music style. It’s a flaming whirlwind of icy wind from the breath of stars, that sweeping rot humdrum mass from the body of the Mother - Earth! It’s a fury of ice giants, holding with his shoulders the bowl of chaos...Scene is not so interesting for me. I don’t listen to the new bands. I can only mention MGLA band from Poland. They play very good music.

10.How far you want to go with Ulverg, you will continue to publish more material or simply a form of entertainment You will wear parralero to your other bands?

While I plan to compose, record and release new albums. All will end when the time comes.
