Desde tierras finlandesas nos llega el primer álbum de esta banda que nos ofrece un black que se caracteriza tanto por su agresividad como por su intensidad. Un black metal construido desde la profundidad de los riffs en un claro dialogo, al tiempo que acertado, con el bajo y en donde podemos descubrir influencias precisas de elementos hardcore, influencias que también se dejan entrever en las voces. El sonido de Valravn en este álbum remite a esa parte más cruda del black más antiguo, capaz de traspasar al oyente con su frialdad cuando la velocidad y agresiviad hacen acto de presencia acompañados de un sonido potente que va solapando riffs que no dejan pasar ocasión para colarnos algunas melodías que en medio de la estructura de los temas se pueden dejar confundir con un death melódico bastante añejo. El bajo proporciona profundidad la sonido, un sonido que no desperdicia ocasión también para bajar la revoluciones y ofrecer una faceta mucho más pausada pero que late con fuerza en el fondo, a punto de desatarse de un momento a otro. Es aquí, en estas dos facetas de su propuesta que Valravn acierta de pleno en un sonido muy característico que sin inventar nada nuevo si que encaja perfectamente entre lo tradicional y lo más reciente. El nexo de unión que mantiene a álbum estructurado al tiempo que aporta dinamismo y una toque distinto son las voces que no se esconden a la hora de dejarse llevar por elementos hardcore muchas veces, estilo presente también en su música, pero que se muestra mucho más representado en las voces. Un álbum que se mantiene fiel a un black metal de sonido clásico, que destaca por su agresividad e intensidad y que sabe construir un sinfín de melodías entre frías y oscuras. (8).
