LASHBLOOD - ENTREVISTA

1.Tell us was a bit like the writing process of this album. Did you have a lot of material already prepared? Would you like to compose in the rehearsal better together or each separately? Who is the leader of the group and has the final say in deciding on the songs?

Silencer: You know, the process of writing is not very interesting itself. What could be interesting in a hundredth rewriting guitars, for example? Or when you realize that the sound is not the same as planned? Nerve-wracking. Before we went into the studio we had a demo and several variants of rehearsal-records. Of course, some things were added in the recording process - for example, acoustic, keyboards, flute. But the basic material for the album was already finished and tested live.
We prefer to write together at rehearsals. The most beautiful thing it's to drink something and/or to smoke, and to begin the process ... Just do not forget switch on a microphone to record, ‘cause the next day there is a good chance not to remember what happened yesterday.
As for solutions, every musician has the same rights, so if someone disagrees with something and can reason his opinion, everyone else will listen to him.

2. It is your first job but sounds great. How long did it take prepare it?

Silencer: The process was so long, that, in my opinion, the album material became less timely than we wanted it to be. So, my advice is - listen to this album, as if it was from 2009.
Svart Samler: Indeed, all material was created in 2009-2010, recording also took about a year, remaining year we spent searching for record label and design for CD.

3. Did the stereo that you use in the rehearsal room is the same as in live?

 Silencer: Yes, everything is real.

4. Tell us about the issues that you deal in the songs.

Svart Samler: Each text in one way or another reveals the theme of self-flagellation and ripping up human essence, declared in the title of the band and the album. Actually, the text “Lash” in several successful phrases reveals the essence of this concept. Most of our lyrics is inspired by literary works that in our opinion have existential nature. For example, “Nausea” is based on a same-name novel written by Sartre and I think it will not be wrong if I say that it’s our program song to the outside world. “Echo of the Void” was written on the novel "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess, and in this text, the keynote is motivation of actions taken by Alex, his inner dialogue. Originally, this was an experimental text written only in nouns, but later we decided to give it a more familiar look in order to sing it somehow.

5. Most are members of other bands, what gives you Lashblood not find in the other bands? How did the group?

Silencer: The most important difference between Lashblood and other Stavropol Nekrodivizion’s projects is that here we combined all our efforts and ideas under one name. In this particular band we try to express our collective views on the sound, lyrics’ conception, the atmosphere of the music. In fact, there is no more and no less unicity than in the rest of our projects, but they as a rule express individual vision of each SND participant.
The history of the band dates back to 2007, when I and Suicide decided to make a project called Lash, but full line-up gathered only in spring 2009. Then was the mess with the musicians - Svart Samler moved to another city, Sinister was dismissed as incompetent, I was out for almost a year for reasons beyond my control. With the changes in the line-up an approach to music changed also, it simply became another, and therefore it was decided to change the name to Lashblood.

Svart Samler: Lashblood unicity lies within the approach to the creation of the material. In fact, the keynote is the possibility of unlimited experimentation, lack of frames and stylistic limitations. And the depth of meaning perhaps. I cannot say that lyrics in other projects we have is superficial, but in Lashblood it is most personal and aimed at self-knowledge.

6.A today seems the Russian extreme scene, is in good health. View from inside Is that so? What we recommend groups in your country?

Svart Samler: I do not know whether to say about a rise or good fit of our stage ... There are great bands, there are school-boys which mindlessly overplay hackneyed riffs. I think, all as in any other country. But that Russian bands gradually become known in the West and are taken seriously there - it's a fact.
I do not think it makes sense to list in an interview all worthy Russian bands, the list will be too big, and I can just simply forget to mention somebody.

7.The songs are quite complex sounds of black drink but also with elements of thrash, death, progressive, what bands inspire you?

Silencer: At that moment I listened to: Tsjuder, Motorhead, Virus, Code, DHG, The Devil's Blood, Gojira, Ved Buens Ende. These are the main, maybe something gone missing…
Svart Samler: We all listen to different music, different styles and "times." Of course, all this affects our music and our creation, but in case with Lashblood, I believe, the greatest impact on us had Ved Buens Ende, Code and Virus, as well as the classic Scandinavian Black 90’s. We openly declare this as we did not “copy’ anybody, our music is original.

8.The album already see that you had ready last year, why do not you published until this year?

Svart Samler: It has become increasingly difficult to find a label in recent years. This is due to the huge queues on the labels and the crisis of the physical medium at all. In our case, this caused also dishonesty of one Russian label, which promised to release this CD "soon", but the album spent nearly a year on the shelf.

9. Having passed some time between composition and publication process of the disc, are you already preparing new material?

Silencer: Yes, of course. The material for the second album is ready, now it’s at the stage of recording. It is quite different in spirit and content. The work will be long, so I cannot promise a soon release. But we are also preparing EP, which will reflect our current direction, we believe that we need a more smooth transition from the first album to the second.
Svart Samler: Most likely the tracks from this EP will be released as a split with one Russian band, which is now also preparing its material.

I hope the questions arose at least entertaining, thank you very much, you can add what you want.

Silencer: Thank you for your questions. We’re glad that you're interested in Lashblood and it’s also great that you liked our first album. Svart Samler: Never Stop the Madness!

LJUSET - ENTREVISTA

Boas noites
1. Could you tell us a little as has been the process of composing this work? What issues have motivated you when composing?
Ljuset : We have a clear sectioning of every ones part of the creation process. In short, Simon writes the music and Emanuel the Lyrics. We are motivated by the life we lead, the path we walk, i.e, the feeling and passion that pulsates through the entire soul before the great mystery.
2. Tell us a little trying your song lyrics
Ljuset : There is no law telling people how to interpret our lyrics, strong feelings of sorrow and joy both occur and it's up to each and every one to interpret them as they se fit. A recurring theme is filosofic-mytologic symbolic images.
3. How were your beginnings in music? Groups and disks What are your inspiration and what would you recommend us?
Ljuset : We all started listening to rock as children. As teens obscure, dark metal caught the strongest grip on us. We completely love classical music, and depressive Swedish pop and psychedelic rock inspire us musically. Some bands and artists from cold Sweden we'd like to recommend to Spain:Broder Daniel, Fred Åkerström, Arckanum, Magna Mater and Bombus.

4. How is the scene in the city of Gothenburg? Have you any type of relationship with the bands from your city? Have inspired you in some way?
Ljuset : Unfortunately, for a long time, we did not have enough members for live performances. So we don't really know our own town in that way, yet. Now however, we've finally found a complete line-up that works, and we're very enthusiastic for up coming gigs.In general we'd like to mention that Gothenburg is a very beautiful and inspiring town, especially in the autumn evenings. There's a lot of old buildings and alleys where a ghostlike sensation of the past lingers.
5. Tell us a little type of equipment that you use in the recording sessions and live performances.
Ljuset : Simon; Fender telecaster by Squire , Burgera vintage and a lot of effect pedals. Vidar; An old Tama star classic kit from the 80’s and Zildjian Cymbals. Emanuel; Ibanez AEL8E Acoustic guitar.
6. How difficult is the coexistence within the group? Who is the leader of the now compose, or all aportáis ideas and you respect?
Ljuset : As we wrote in the first question, there's a sectioning in the work concerning the composition that emerged naturally, to everyone's satisfaction. There are no hierarchy of any sort, but up till now Ljusets core consisted of: Simon, Vidar and Emanuel.
7. How is it being received by the public of this work and not only in terms of sales but also live?
Ljuset : We've had very good response on our first EP, Chakravartin. Significantly more dynamic response on Parzifal, so far. Our other EP, Parzifal are officially released first in november, but most of the material can be found on the internet.

8. Are you locking on new material what can we expect from it?
Ljuset : We've got to much material for our own good (haha). Without saying too much, we'll offer music in the future with less limitations. For instance concerning what kind of  instruments used. We'd like to invite you to a part of our journey.
9. Being a relatively novel band, I think your sound is quite "particular", especially the duality between the guitars and vocals, how would you define your sound? Highlight about what aspect of sound?
Ljuset : Dirty, melodious pop/metal, occasionally slightly depressive with great mystery. We hope that the beauty in our music aren't always obvious, that it can be just as much hidden in the obscure parts as in the melodious.
10. Thank you very much for your time, if you want to add something for people who like Ljuet this site, thanks.
Ljuset : Thank you! For all who've heard and like our music, visit our facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ljuset/278700882158750
We'll see you in the future!

1. Could you tell us a little as has been the process of composing this work? What issues have motivated you when composing? Our current and fourth album "Wetterkreuz" has mainly been composed between December 2011 and March 2012, in a pretty short period of time. I'm composing songs on my own, we're just arranging some parts with our drummer Marlek or during the studio work. This time, I've been motivated by a lot of personal issues of pretty moving things happened during the last couple of years, and a visual vision of mountains, snowy landscapes, rocks and stone, and I tried to transform both of that into music and lyrics.
2. Tell us a little trying your song lyrics
All of my lyrics are written in German, and I mostly use a pretty metaphoric, melancholic language to form my thoughts into words. This time, I've used a lot of metaphors related to stone, as I often felt like being made of stone... it's pretty intensive to deal with our lyrics, and I can only recommend all our German listeners to have view themselves.
3. How were your beginnings in music? Groups and disks What are your inspiration and what would you recommend us?
We've started to play together as Eismalsott in late 2002, early 2003, something like that. We've released four albums so far, "Patina" (2005), "Kainsmal" (2006), "Galeere" (2009) and "Wetterkreuz" (2012). Everything related to that can be read in a more extensive form on our homepage the-eis-reich.de

4. How difficult is the coexistence within the group? Who is the leader of the now compose, or all aportáis ideas and you respect?
Honestly... I'm pretty much of a dictator when it comes to the artistic aspect of the band. I have a clear vision of music, lyrics and visuals when it comes to presenting EIS in the public. As that is clearly stated with the band, we seldomly have discussions about such things. It's different when it comes to organisational themes and stuff like that, but it's definitely too boring to talk about.

5. How is it being received by the public of this work and not only in terms of sales but also live?
During the years, we've received more and more feedback, and I'd say it got more enthusiastic with every album and every year of the band's existence. We're not the kind of band aiming and hits and thousands of fans, but rather a band that convinces listeners by being notoriously delivering good work I'd say. We haven't always been the best live band around, but have evolved with the new line-up, and receiving such reactions from people now is really extraordinarily fine.
6. Tell us a little type of equipment that you use in the recording sessions and live performances.

Uh, come on, most people give a shit about equipment... I understand that some are interested to know which guitars, strings, amps and stuff we're using, but that's for insiders. We usually record at Studio E, a well-known German metal studio owned by Markus Stock of Empyrium and The Vision Bleak. Of course we use his equipment mainly, like Peavey and Marshall amps, Yamaha Drums, my Schecter guitar... and tons of other stuff. But, you see, that's mostly standard equipment a lot of bands rely on. We don't need much more to express what we have to say.
7. Feeling What you want to convey to the listener with acoustic and keyboards parts of your songs?

Can't remember we've used acoustic parts for the last six years. A lot of keyboards though, that's true. I just think that keyboards give the certain extra atmosphere added to guitars... not as much in the foreground like a lot of bands do it, but decently in the background they're giving that extra touch that let's you shiver. I mean... just listen to old Emperor for example. Unbelievable what these guys did with some cheap keyboards.

8.The process by which you had to change the name, do not know if it's one aspect of which wanted to talk, but at some point was a tension within the group? and why would not they changed the name? but whose was the idea of changing Geist by Eis?
We had to change the name because an alternative rock band from Cologne, Germany, named GEIST since 2001 or something, threatened us with law suits if we wouldn't change our name. Of course that's ridiculously cheese, but what the heck... that's why we changed the name two and a half years ago.
Apart from that, we certainly had some tensions within the band with the last line-up, which split nearly one year ago. That's nothing I want to talk about in public, but well, three out of five members left us back then. We have found three new members in C:R:A, Satyrus.S and Abarus, and they're fucking awesome, so let's not waste any time looking back.
9. Thank you very much for your time, if you want to add something to the people who like this place EIS Thanks.
Thanks for the support you're granting to the black metal scene with your blog. Readers, check out our new album "Wetterkreuz", it's extremely atmospheric, cold and aggressive black metal, mid-nineties styled. So, if you like what Emperor, Covenant and these guys did back then, try with this legal streaming of the entire album: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLToXWne2Bk-cHCPIxY7QVNW7P4r5yTY4J&feature=view_all And give us a like at Facebook if you enjoy our stuff. https://www.facebook.com/eis.official

SEKORIA - ENTREVISTA

1. Well we have in this first street, how has been the creation process? Are working well sales system?, I see what you manage them yourself, was there not any offer from any record label?
Hi, this is Tobi from Sekoria. First of all thank you for the interview!
The creative process was very good and productive. The recording and the production of the CD were kind of longsome – it took about one year – but the result is really great and we also learned a lot from it. Next recordings will be way more efficient. At the moment we sell the CDs by ourself but we wouldn’t say no to a good label deal. Our decision to allow free downloads of the album probably scares labels. I think they just missed the 21st century. Everything finds its way to the internet. We would not sell more CDs if we wouldn’t allow free downloads. If someone really likes an album and wants to support the band, he buys the CD. No one buys a CD just to listen to it for the first time. You listen to it online first. At least the people I know do it like that. And after the long process of production we couldn’t wait any longer. We had to show people the result. We would have done better by searching for a label earlier.
2. You have a lot of influences in your music, from Dimmu Borgir to Ensiferum, what is the band that influenced you?.

We all have really different influences and the influence of every member was also different for each song. Some songs were written nearly alone by André or Felix and other songs have a strong influence of myself. While listening, you will notice that the songs from Felix are influenced by bands like Hypocrisy, Behemoth or Sworn (the Norwegian ones), while André’s songs are influenced by Windir, Pantheist, Colosseum or Arkona.Further influences are Death, Moonsorrow, Dimmu Borgir’s „Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia“. I also would like to mention the beautiful instrumental song „Mana“ from Equilibriums „Sagas“ relating to the orchestral sounds. Mathias’ drum tracks are also heavily influenced by many different Metalcore bands, what gives the music a very unique character.

3. ¿How being public response at concerts hacie you record?

We had just one gig since the release of the album, but the resonance was very good and we could also sell some CDs. Hopefully there are more gigs in future!

4. ¿On what the songs speak?

The two English songs tell a kind of short-story with a little bit of a sociocritical approach. But we went away from this sort of text while we started to write in German. Here, the content is more about human abyss, suicidal thoughts, hate and craving. So they have a way more personal background.

5. ¿What musical equipment you use in the studio? Is the same as in live?

We used the same guitars and the same bass that we used live at that time. But we did not use our live amps in the end. We experimented a lot with a reamping-box and with several amp simulations and in the end we stayed at IK Multimedia’s “Amplitube 3”. The drum set was first recorded regular but afterwards we decided to trigger the audio files and replaced the sounds with “Superior Drummer 2”. So the timing and the dynamic from the original playing is still there, but the sounds are better.

6. If you had to decide for a song that represents you, what would it be?

That is a difficult question. Our opinions vary here. It would probably be „Zu Den Sternen“. But one song cannot covert the whole thing. There are too many facets in the different songs.

7. How long have you as a band? Long I know How is the coexistence within the group?

The band was formed in 2009 as a 2-man-project by Felix and me. We recorded a demo of our first songs “Do You Repent” and “Summoning The Demon”. Our friends were excited and so we found fellows very quickly. André joined in the end of 2009, Mathias some months later. Unfortunately, André moved away from here and so things have been difficult lately. But Felix, Mathias and me share lots of time on weekends, too.

8 ¿Do you find it very difficult to take direct your sound? I refer particularly to the orchestral part

No, the sound just came by itself. The idea with the orchestral parts was born with the demo in 2009 and André and Mathias have helped to form a unique sound with their own ways of playing and composing.

9. Tell us a little bit of German black scene from your point of view.

Mathias: I guess, we have a rather big black metal scene compared to other European countries, except Norway and Sweden. Good german black metal bands are for example Der Weg einer Freiheit, Endstille and Imperium Dekadenz.

10 Do you think that new technologies like the Internet are beneficial for groups or else you do not believe that any good, contributing to the collapse of the music industry?

André: I think generally it is a good thing for every musician because all people in the world can listen to their music. So it doesn't really matter if one wants to earn money with his music or not. On the one hand sites like YouTube are a good way to promote music. One the other hand labels are not very interested to sign a band which is sharing their album for free, because of the money. But it all depends on the motivation of the musicians and so I am happy that we chose this kind of release. People from Russia, Italy or Spain are listening to Sekoria
and this is for me personally a great thing. We wouldn’t be able to make such things without the Internet.
