THE PORSUIT OF UNHAPPINESS (2021)

"The Pursuit of Unhappiness" es el segundo larga duración para esta one man band italiana en donde podemos encontrar un trabajo de black metal con influencias sinfónicas y con una atmósfera de corte medieval. El álbum da comienzo con un sonidos de teclados, teclados que de alguna manera se mantiene presentes a lo largo de todas las composiciones, sin un peso predominante, quedándose cercano a un black sinfónico por momentos, pero sin llegar del todo a profundizar en esta faceta, aunque gracias también al aporte de elementos electrónicos se va pergeñando una atmósfera que sin renunciar a cierta melodía si que construye un sonido atmosférico de influencias medievales. Los temas rápidamente dan paso, después de unos inicios más lentos, a un arranque de black contundente, con un sonido bastante solido, sustentado tanto en un aporte de batería directo, algo monótono pero por momentos explosivo, que va de la mano de la capas de riffs que se suceden prácticamente sin pausa a lo largo de las composiciones, a todo ello hay unir esos arreglos entre los sinfónico y lo electrónico que van arrastrando el carácter medieval que se le quiere dar al conjunto, pasando también de puntillas por terrenos cercanos al "dungeon synth" impregnado todo de un ambiente de fantasía. Por su parte las voces se presentan graves y agresivas, digamos también que se amoldan perfectamente a plano musical, ejerciendo si cabe una función de contraste con la instrumentación, aportando un tono de oscuridad y frialdad al conjunto. Un álbum que ofrece una atmósfera lograda, con un sonido entre lo melódico y lo sinfónico con un ambientación elaborada. (7,6).
