LUCIFERIAN - ENTREVISTA

PRIMALFROST - INTERVIEW

1. The band was created by you in 2012, how the idea of creating Primalfrost arise? Why did you choose the name of "Primalfrost"?
Well I more or less started this band solely as a solo/studio project outside of the bands I was playing in at the time. Didn't really have any intentions of making it a serious thing or even bringing it into the live setting for that matter, as it was just me writing/recording everything myself (even though it still is as of now). Then in time as I started writing for the band more seriously and decided to actually record/release music I assembled a live lineup and we've been active as a live band since.

I came up with the name "Primalfrost" with the intention of having something that wasn't tied to any specific historical context or mythology or whatever, but still gave off the "Epic" feel I aim to portray in the music. I also wanted to combine two words together like that so the name can easily be found in search engines and not be tied to anything else besides the band.

2. When playing in your past bands Will of the Ancients and Lesion, what made you want to create a band of your own?
I treated Primalfrost as kind of a creative outlet for me in the beginning, as I wanted to write music in this style even though it couldn't really fit all too well into the style of the bands I was playing in. In both bands I was basically playing other peoples music which I really enjoyed doing, but I guess in time Primalfrost just slowly just became my main musical focus and it began to overshadow what I was doing with those bands. Luckily we're all more or less on good terms, I'm really glad we could part ways and not have things get ugly!

3. Primalfrost is your band, you're the only member, but for shows you have recruited a group of live musicians, is there any chance in the future for it to become a full band?
I'm hoping too. The problem is everyone always has their own shit going on. University, full time jobs, other bands, etc. Finding musicians with full 100% prioritized commitment is a super hard thing, and that sucks cause I get along great and have an awesome time playing with the guys in the live lineup now. But we're always going back and forth with having fill-in members and such so we don't really have much of a consistent lineup to begin with. So I guess that goes back to the fact that it's me doing everything for the band, It kinda works out in a way cause I don't have to rely on others to get things done. I've managed to release 2 albums, book tons of shows, distribute merchandise, etc. all by myself, but I'm really hoping this band can eventually become a group effort.

4. Do you find it difficult being the only one composing all the music?
Not really actually. It's been like that since the beginning so I've kind of gotten used it by now. It gets a little overwhelming getting everything else done for the band though. Show booking, promotion, driving, managing, etc. I do my best to manage it all!

5. "Prosperous Visions" is your latest album, how was the writing/recording process? How did it differ from writing/recording "Chapters of Time"?
The writing process went rather smooth, at the time I felt I put a good amount of time into it when I was writing it and that I was certainly making an improvement from the last album, but now that I look back on it, I realize there's some things that could have been done differently, could have been done better, etc. and I felt that exact way after writing/recording chapters of time as well, and I'm certain I'll feel that way after I release the next album. I was only 15 years old when I did Chapters of Time and 17 when I did Prosperous Visions so I guess me maturing as a person and a musician has a lot to do with it. My goal is to always make an album better than the last one, musically and production wise. It just comes in time and experience. I can confidently say the next album will be the best one yet, I'm working hard on it and I'm sure it won't disappoint people!

6. Your sound is certainly more like European bands like Finntroll or Moonsorrow, what are your main musical influences?
Those two are certainly up there, haha. Definitley a lot of bands like Ensiferum, Kalmah, Wintersun, etc. are of course an influence, but I'm also heavily influenced by lots of bands that really embrace "Epicness" in their sound, such as Stormlord, Dimmu Borgir, Mechina, Septic Flesh, Epica, Nightwish, etc. Listening to a lot of film music like Two Steps From Hell is also something I do a lot of as well, as I'm writing orchestral stuff for the next album that's a lot bigger and more complex than the last two albums.

7. "Prosperous Visions" has a very big sound, the songs flow seamlessly with intense moments and more calm sections, do you intend to convey this to the listener with your music?
It's definitely something I attempt to do haha. That's all part of the whole "Epic" metal thing that I try to do in my music. It's like a movie, it has intense parts, calm parts, etc. but it all flows together into something complete. That's what I attempt to do in this band. Have fast, heavy, and intense parts, as well as calm, soft, melodic sections as well, but have it all work well together to make the album/each song sound complete. And of course I try to bring in other film like-elements like orchestrations, repeating themes, etc.

8. What topics do you cover in the lyrics of "Prosperous Visions"? Is there any conceptual history behind it?
The lyrics in Prosperous Visions more or less cover themes of Battle, Quests, and Rebellion against Tyrannical rule. It's not specifically based on any specific Mythology or fantasy book because I wanted to do something original and not based on something else. The next album is a lot more conceptual, the lyrics follow actual characters and a storyline that ties into the music with dynamics and themes. All will be revealed soon!

9. You have recently done a small USA tour, how has the response been from these crowds?
We recently did a small tour run with this Australian folk metal band Claim The Throne (Whom we recommend you check out!) in Montreal, Niagara Falls (Both in Canada) and then we played some shows in the USA; Rochester, NY and Burlington, VT. Overall it was a very good response, we had a great time, played for lots of people, and met many new people while reconnecting with old ones as well. Hoping to do something like this again!

10. What kind of equipment do you use live?
I myself have a rather simple live setup. I run a Peavey JSX through a Bugera Cabinet, and an MXR Carbon Copy analog delay pedal in the effects loop for cleans and leads/solos. No rack processor or anything crazy, I like it simple! And my Ibanez Premium 7 String is my main live guitar.

11. What future plans do you have for Primalfrost, in terms of upcoming releases?
I'm working pretty hard on the next album. Lots of epic riffs, blast beats, slow melodic sections, catchy melodies, repeating themes, and very lush thick orchestrations! something I'm certainly spending a lot more time on for this record. One thing that is different from the last few albums is that it's a lot more of a concept album lyrically and musically. I'm still doing my best to retain the Primalfrost sound on this album, there's just a lot more going on. I think it's gonna be our most memorable album yet!

12. Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to Black Metal Spirit, is there anything you want to add?
Thanks so much for the interview. Your support means everything! Be sure to check us out on social media to stay updated on things (facebook y bandcamp), lots more excitement to come! Stay epic!

NIGHTBRINGER

EGO DOMINUS TUUS (2014)

1. Prayer of Naphal 02:00
2. Et Nox Illuminatio mea in Deliciis Meis 09:00
My pleasure is melancholy - God above me - God below me - My heart the fulcrum between I am of you - You are the lord - I am of you - That makes the darkness shine I am of you - Glorious as the sun - I am of you - Our father who art in me You draw me up! - EHEI - Death! - EHEI - Daimon! - EHEI - Fire! - EHEI You draw me up! - Athanor! - EHEI - Serpent! - EHEI - horns! - EHEI I - Draw you - Down - I long for the gift of profound death - So I pray before your mask Bowing down before this self I cannot know - Least I open the temple's door I could never approach your mirror - Your blessing is ecstatic reverie So jubilant within your Night of Light - The Dark Noontide And he sayeth unto me! - And he sayeth! - I am your lord! And he sayeth unto me! - And he sayeth! - I am your lord! Your pleasure is melancholy - God below me Your pleasure is melancholy - God above me My heart crucified between - My heart crucified between Our father who art in me - Whose inverse light shall set me free God above me - - My heart crucified between! God below me - Shaitan! - My heart crucifed between! God within me - And I sayeth - I am your lord! God within me - Shine! - I am your lord! I drink the black-bile philtron - Of your Saturnine cup Upon your earth - I do sup My nourishment commeth - My nourishment cometh My nourishment commeth from doing the will of my father
3. Lantern of Eden's Night 09:30
Asael, descend from high Eden! From abyss to the sun Down the bright serpent Towards the dragon of Nun Within the night of black Eden Towards death I would bow Illumed by the flames of a trident To pierce the mark of my brow To become as lampadiphor Of a great fallen spark From a star luciferious To illumine paths dark Lucifer - Messich! Guardian of the sceond tree O perilous star of the morning! Darken my plea! Strike me lord, strike me! With your igneous blade The mark of Pentagrammaton By which the soul is remade O' morning star smite me! Pierce the chambers of my heart Carve a seat for your bright wisdom And let profane life depart My blood is my offering To the plot of this sacred place With Lilith-Nachash behind me Opposite your luminous face A shadow cast by your fire From hers is the blood of our race She who first offered The poison fruits taste And guised with temptation The path towards divine fate A riddle to solve A great thirst to sate O Shaitan above me! Three who art one Guide, lord and daimon Forge flame and sun I pray you bless me with eminence And impart your gift And by resurrection uplift Resolve this "I" to your aspect Crowned with horns twain And armed with the blade By which I was slain I pray to know And I will to be To become as the monad By way of trinity And walk Eden's night path towards God's temple By the light of the adversary And by root, heart and crown Coil about the second tree
4. Things Which Are Naught 05:36
In Death's holy silence I call you, God above me, God below me
By Neither, Neither, myself unseen, God within and God beyond me
Reflected in these mirrors darkly, God above me, God below me
By Neti, Neti, a faceless face, God within and God beyond me

You abysmal rift in the fabric of being
Ungraspable shadow, devour me
As I open my eyelids for your gnashing teeth
And fill the hollows with blackest dreams

"For his art did express a quintessence even from nothingness
From dull privations and lean emptiness
He ruin'd me and I am re-begot
Of absence, darkness, death: things which are not"

Coil about me and breathe my new name
Self above me, Self below me

Plow earth into abyss and reap its bitter grain
Absence within me, Presence beyond me

And your naked splendor has carved open the pathway

Into wonders of the howling night and the twist of the moon
Where the dead awakens to the call of serpentine cherubim to fall ever deeper and deeper into their tombs
Restructure the dried out bones of the world and fill its dried out veins with your word
A promise of everything I will come to be, the Nothing within me and the All beyond me!
5. I Am the Gateway 07:32
At the barren edge of the silence of night
'neath the snare where the snake sheds its skin
Where the rivers of our strangest dreams collide
I ventured into the wilderness of death's awakening

To seek for that which all others abhor
On a road that defies the course of the world
With the blood of my heart seal the fated oath
At the point where all moments unfurl
I chance my all for everything other
My soul unto you, demon and brother

Into the circle where eye must meet eye
With the one who is all that I am not
And the night is but all that lies in between
Where sown is my self's seed
Within the torn tome of destiny

All secrets are tied to none strangling noose
That's solved and rebound upon the gallows hill's top
And in a storm of peacock feathered bliss
Shall strange new wine fall into my cup

For between the cold fingers fetching sense
Falls golden sparks and the fallen angels seed
That flows into the core of crossroads
Where all paths crooked and narrow must lead

Doorways unlocked, chalice overturned
I slit the jaded throat that sings the wretched world
And dive into the instant, the void of your face
Where the veins of God opens beneath my lightning bolt blade

The hour is struck, the time is at hand
To rewrite the rhymes that our cruel fate once planned
O Devil and God, on your road I embark
For we are bound everlasting by pact, birth and a murderer's mark
6. Call of the Exile 04:26
7. Where Fire Never Dreamt of Man 06:41
And I dreamt of libricide and fire, a flaming pyramid opening the desert nights
Flaring letter's in mad laughter swirling across the sky, like screeching simurghs unchained
That stole the keys right out of St. Peter's hand to dare the borders to forgotten lands

Shine you terrible lamp of Wisdom, shine upon the desert fields of night
Shine within flesh and blackest mire, for my tongue has a dire taste for fire

Fallen into the wastelands of our dreams

Where I'm wildered unto the forbidden gleam, of Azazel's burning sacrament and sword
So descend upon these lands, Estrangement's Lord

Throw me into the depths where you once fell, to be accursed and blessed within the springs of Hell
To pass outside the route of heaven's stars and die to the yoke of heaven's law

I've become something I've never dreamt of before, my words all burnt within your unearthly torch
My name re-written in your blazing winds and known is the secret of Shemyazaz' sin

"O Nimbus of a daimonic crown, blaze forth across eternity for me
The night is wholly mine and in Death's kiss it is sealed
Where light and darkness conjoin, I have buried my Will towards expanses impossible
And opened the road unto where thoughts bow before: Red, Holy, Chaos-flame"
8. The Witchfires of Tubal-Qayin 07:43
"May you be the firebrand of the furnace of the earth..." Come ye Sons of Celestial Fire, Descend as of Olde! To mix your seed with mortal kind and sire unlawful progeny divine. As unto Qayin, at crossed roads three, The bloodline of wisdom, pass unto me. For with this, my sacrifice, self unto Self, I am led Into the Witching Fire of Tubal-Qayin.! Come ye Daughters of Ancient Night, Arise and behold! The path of the Blessed Serpent bright, Fallen from heaven's black light. As unto Calmena, at crossed roads three, The bloodline of wisdom, pass unto me. For with this, my sacrifice, self unto Self, I am led To imbibe the envenomed Graal of Lilith! "In the brazen Citadel, in the Hall of Flames, I call upon Thee, Goat-Angel of the Golden Horns, Master of the Primal Fire, AZAZEL-QAYIN, appear in thy brilliance! O flame breathing Daemon and Wizardly Smith, Who forgest the iron weapons of victorious liberation, Hearken to me, who am of thy cunning seed, The hidden house of AZAZEL!" -Nigel Jackson - The Masks of Misrule- From the bellow's breath, the flame is born, That tempers the blade, forged by the Lord. The hammer strikes to shape the blade true, Through furnace and flame born anew, Wielded now with steady left hand, To pierce the hearts of woman and man. All Hail, Sword of Judgment, cut to the core, Strike fear in your enemies, Sword of War! Rise, O Flame, ever higher, Burn to ashes all within this pure At the Forge of Tubal-Qayin. Come ye Children of forgotten Gods born, Recall what was told! The promise made in gardens of Eld, When with the Wise Serpent, converse was held. As with Seth, upon the Olde Serpent's Tree, The fourth road of wisdom, shall set me free. For with this my sacrifice, self unto Self, I am led To embrace Death, the Master's revelation! A conflagration of All, yet within detritus most foul arises - A crown and a might beyond Law! Unum adversas omnia, the Opposer's path revealed, All-Otherness resolved and in One Thing sealed.
9. Salvation Is the Son of Leviathan (Alabas in Memoriam) 06:08
10. The Otherness of Being 12:43
"The mind of the Father named all things in threes" "...all things have been generated from One Fire." "Source of Sources, the womb which contains the All." "Above all, let the priest himself who governs the works of fire, be sprinkled with the icy billow of the deep-roaring sea." -The Chaldean Oracles- What is this wind of black fate, That guides me and carries me on; So steeped in the Devil's earth, So far from the fane of sun, A voice in the darkness, In irremeable fathomless depths The black, the living darkness inside me Is Death! Yet as distant as elder stars, Whose once brilliant flames are long dead A paradoxical inverse light, No sun ever shed It calls me it names me "No-one" With silent sepulchral breath So I name Him the "All" and the "No-nothing" Within the Garden before the elders of Seth The shade of Abel arises before me, neath the blood stained right hand of Qayin And his left hand is pointing Towards the scared plot of the slain Oh, ineffable guardian and guide, My dream veiled daemon of other As one we were born of the Devil, And Eld Night our majestic mother I am myself! I wish to be other! Crown me with thorns, Neath great spiraling horns Three nails to affix our fate, Upon the cross betwixt evening and morn Let the seal of ever becoming, Be now rended and torn And to the daemon within, A new pact is sworn "Self" I name thee, My shadow veiled brother Yet no name can be given, To that which is other My Fate - My will - My heart - You fill - With light - Beyond light - A flame like the night My lord - My love - My god - Above - My angel - That - Is naught - Answer my call My Darkness - My sea - Of black - Eternity - Becoming - In darkness - A will - To be free A self - Becoming - Other - Than self - My otherness - That - I dream - And die to become "For the mortal who approached the Fire will possess the light from God" "Those who, by inhaling, drive out the soul, are free." "For in this triad the Father has mixed every breath." "...keep silent initiate." -The Chaldean Oracles-

MEMENTO OF ANCIENT MEMORIES (2013)

Disco 1
1. The Great Old Ones 07:03
By the words of the Mad Arab Alhazred From the nameless city & keeper of the keys Behold my findings from behind 9 doors Rushing devils now invoke my dreams Dark univers I hear ye yawning Black as the Witches' Cauldrons are Old Minds more intelligent than Miskatonics Here I seek you and dare to travel far Gathered now the black brotherhood be Under stars aligned in Trapezohedron form Bas-relief readings from the idol stone conducting rituals; Cthulhu be reborn! Before hell-wind & titan-blue Aeon-shadowed Walpurgisnacht Rise from Yith-infested Seas Psychic-tentacle mind rot Cthulhu, Azathoth Nyarlathotep, Shub-Niggurath Father Dragon, Dagon Mother Hydra, Yog-Sothoth Borne on the wings of night Are those out beyond space From dim eras & dark stars Entering here through the spirit gate Black-winged ones travel through sky Cephalopods of cryptic lore Stretching beyond Arkham minds Cthonian prophecy shadows forth Electricity from below smoke-wreathed world of dream Violet lamp-starred twilight Nothing here is what it seems I see the tower in the dark A shadow that is out of time Lightning strike from cloudless skies In their name dark star Yuggoth shine
2. Return to the Cosmic Infinity 06:34
  Trembling earth, under chanting cults,
Chill winds bring vast new fear
Shattered-sky holds luminous bolts,
Old ones cast bondage of strange fever
Cosmic secrets of the glowing stone,
Planetary Giza alignment
Gates and Passages through voids unknown
Now unlocking a true god's confinement

Night howls peer haunting ecstasies,
they tear & echo like the wolves of hell
Possession through control-lost orgies,
for him...we are whipping ourselves
High-delerium & stagnant motion,
our minds are not our own-
Imprisoned animalistic fury,
peaceful now to the phantom; a drone

Soon be the season of the proper moon's cycle
Resurrection when the stars align
First signs of liberation & revival
Mi-gos plunge like comets in our skies

Like glowing hale falls alien orbs,
crashing violent into colossus-wave
Descending down upon our oceanic floors
implanting us with visions of his grave
3. The Depths of Dreams & Terror 07:39
The horrors I've seen
within my sleep & dreams
awakens my mind
to the absolute strangest things
From deep inside
it's astronomical mind,
starring from below
watching with gazing eyes

Reverse anthropod abortion,
convulsive subconscious contortions
A new unrestricted reality
trapped in prismatic distortion
Dark universe coursing through my veins,
black planets begin to roll without aim
Beyond the realms of my mind,
lays a city I cannot yet name

Unknown superior; he who will drown the sun
Laying below a chasm of stone,
shielding him since the sun was young
Blasphemies from elder stars
which dream beneath the sea
The old ones were, the old ones now
& again the old ones be
4. Below a Mirror of Stars 04:04
5. Submerged Stones of R'yleh 08:51
Awakening now, from an emerald-hazed slumber Panic & mania...brought from what I have seen. A city shrouded in complete & utter silence Forbidden landscape of my blasphemous dreams Obsolete vista of unknown architect Cyclopean structures; malachite-like dripping ooze It will bring horrors beyond the likes of Dunwich It will bring horror, revelation & truth It has gripped my mind; subconscious residuum Involuntary visions of an estranged citadel Luring Master; Telepathic Disseminator I will find you through consciousness & will Supreme dweller, who whispers in darkness Seeking one...made of flesh & bone Necronomic scriptures shall map my path Descending unto undimensioned crypts of stone "What I see is unmeant for mortal eyes. Paralyzed in dream state I somehow telepathically float towards the abstract monolith. I seem to be lowering further & endlessly down. Diminishing is the light of the sun which breaks through what I can only imagine to be the crown somewhere on the Pacific. Darkening becomes my vision except for the unworldly structure I fear to know. Engulfed in black oceans, I am channeled forth...beyond my will. As spoken by the Esoteric Order, here lays the sea soaked perversion that houses a great dead dreaming priest. I have reached the monstrous acropolis. It sits in loathsome shapes that could only be built by travelers from dark stars beyond galaxies we've yet to discover. Oh what mass this holds. Surely only a titan must lurk within these stones. Not even the gates of heaven could rival these dimensions. Here surely rests the supreme dweller. Deepest of deepest ones laying behind the wall of sleep. I now must begin my decent beyond earth's alternate dimensional plane. Outside the circles of time & downwards through dark pillars bearing inscriptions foreign to the eyes of man. Behold the mighty nightmare-corpse city we once thought unreachable. Behold a dripping Babylon of elder-demons. Behold the metropolis tomb & colony of Cthulhu. Behold R'lyeh"
6. Crypt of the Kraken King 05:56
Those of The Void, seek passage here Dead but dreaming...His time draws near Continuing forth...following forbidden signs I must crack the seal to release the chains that bind Elder-devil who dances in astral flames I hear your silent howls, I hear you call my name Eater of time & space, ancient spawn of the stars Illustrate your dementia, unseen haunter of the dark Submerged sepulcher, inert daemonical pool Hair-raising silence slumbering nightgaunt & ghoul Divine Viridian Nexus, magnificent celestial tower Entombed super-Omega, ensnared sleeping power Great Nodens of the Silver hand, Abysmal-lord beneath the waves Secret teacher of the nether, Yog-Sothoth stands behind the Gates Unknown darkling-forms move & gather round, Leering shadows guide my way Supreme Sultan who controls my will, Deliver me unto his grave
7. A Throne Below the Black Sea 05:54
Iridescent golden flecks radiate within blackened stone
Hieroglyphic-colossal blocks, undoubtedly
The Destroyer's Throne.
Indestructable contraption that bears inscriptions,
Resurrecting instructions, aloft a heap of bones.
Terror of apprehension...creating imagination
I weave wild witchery to wake...thee unknown.
Alternative Universe, descend unto our atmosphere
Dark gods ascend in us, we reap what we have sown.

Let the voices of the faithful be heard beyond boundless
wells of night.
Chant boisterous, spirits of earth...shout hymns amidst
greatest might.
Dread & admiration, dream-sculptured incantations,
Psychotic mind-molestation, he is within my sight!
Great old one, elusive external King,
generate stellar blackness; our world devoid of light.
Electric anathema, bring song from Tru'nembra
cease the clock of time, import our spheres last rite.

My orifices dripping with jellied-green
For sure Shoggoths within my limbs
Protoplasmic organ fiends
Moving through my blood like a slithering Yig

Re-animator; I am the chosen one
Gifting re-birth to he who eternally lies
Yet with strange aeons...
Even Death may die.
8. Above a Reflection of Water 03:46
9. Storming the Pacific 05:53
Formless presence smoke rising Black Aether erasing our horizon Seven seas freshly flood Seven continents concealed in blood Ceaselessly Crawling Chaos, Planetary-wreckage holocaust-seance Ithaqua flares riding winds Abysmal stares burst unhinged "Praise him; he with tentacles like serpents, Praise with the black goat of the woods with a thousand young, Praise the blind demon who dwells within the pit of chaos, Praise the destroying eye, the cold flame & the burning ones" IA! IA! IA! IA CTHULHU!
10. Swallowed by the Aeons of Time 09:37
Darkness constructing, the vast deep rises forth Great poison from the sea, tenebrous wings storm the shore. Lunacy exploding, reclaiming realms of wonder Wailing out to infinity, roaring like a thousand thunders. Rise & set blackest sun, shine upon the end of man Let us pray to see Kadath, let us dream on plateaus of Leng. Cover Earth with slate Abyss, reverberate our all-knowing end, Welcome us through shamanic portals, let our minds from our bodies ascend Transparent being gleaming through emerald light Undimensioned knowing not the day or night Great mountain of madness, wielding wormholes from beyond, Space-aquatic-levitator; summoning star-clusters blocking dawn Yuggoth descend from what is left of our sky, and now the world & all contained inside shall die This is the end, the end of all. For all is lost...& lost are all.

TYRANTS BLOOD

COVEN (2014)
