DAEMONARCHRIST - DAEMON EST DEVS INVERSVS (2014)

Los comienzod de Hereticas hay que buscarlos en la banda seminal Immolator en activo durante el período 1993-1996 y de la cual surgiría Heretical siendo a día de hoy Azmeroth el único miembro original de la formación, formación que no ha tenido un camino sencillo hasta llegar a la edición de este "Dæmonarchrist - Dæmon Est Devs Inversvs" su tercer álbum de estudio y una obra que no deja indiferente al oyente. Desde sus inicios Heretical vienen ofreciendo un black metal sinfónico pero que a medida que van pasando lo años se muestra más maduro y elaborado. En este su último trabajo han optado por un mejor producción, esta corre a cargo de Fabio Monaco de los  Sound Empathy Studiode Estocolmo  y les permite ofrecer un álbum variado y lleno de matices. En ningún momento pierden de vista la vertiente más sinfónica de su música, pero no pierden tampoco de vista un sonido contundente y aplastante que le permite sonar clásicos pero al mismo tiempo incluyendo algunos aspectos más modernos. Se conseguido también una ambientación gótica, oscura y siniestra muy en la línea de bandas como Dimmu Borgir o Cradle of Filth, dos bandas que en mayor o menor medida han sido estandartes del black sinfónico. El trabajo a la guitarra es impactante, buen trabajo de riffs, la batería contundente y unas voces variadas entre lo gutural y lo agresivo hacen a este álbum más que recomendable. (8,6)

RUTTOKIELI (2013) 

El potencial de Sielunvihollinen es notable, Ruttokieli es su segunda demo y en ella nos ofrecen cinco temas de crudeza y desesperación. Una banda agresiva por momentos, más melódica en otros pero siempre ofreciendo una interesante mezcla entre black y rock, porque el rock está presente en todas la composiciones en mayor o menor medida pero siempre aportando una actitud macarra y salvaje. Los temas son variados y en ellos podemos apreciar partes más pesadas y violentas que sin previo aviso se transforman gracias a la melodía de las guitarras en algo más accesibles con una vertiente más rock pero con el merito de no perder en ningún momento el ambiente de crudeza que está presente en su música. La propuesta no desentonaría en la escena black escandinava de principio de los 90s. Letras en finlandes que por la manera en al que son interpretadas desprenden odio y sufrimiento y una producción que eleva la crudeza de la música pero que deja disfrutar de los instrumentos. Una banda interesante que agradará a la vertiente más cruda y tradicional de la escena. (8).

NACHTHYMNEN (FROM THE TWILIGHT KINGDOM) (1995)

En este su segundo larga duración Abigor mantiene los elementos que les habían hecho cosechar reconocimientos dentro de la escena y que estaban presentes en su anterior larga duración y ep, elementos que no son otros que la elaboración de un black metal de sonido clásico pero con un gran peso de las guitarras en su vertiente más melódica, unas voces agresivas y perfectas por parte de Silenius y el enriquecimiento de su sonido hacia vertientes folk o medievales gracias a la incorporación de instrumentos y melodías tradicionales. Sin embargo en este álbum se aprecia una cierta evolución en el sonido que les ha llevado sobre toda a ganar velocidad en las composiciones, también han evolucionado en una batería mucho más presentes y elaborada, un cierto aire más sinfónico y la incorporación a las voces en ciertos puntos de un voz femenina. Con ello aunque las guitarras mantienen ese tono melódico se ha perdido un tanto el aspecto más tradicional y se abren nuevos horizontes hacia la velocidad eso si hay constantes cambios de ritmo y por momentos se producen interesantes duelos entre los dos guitarristas. El sonido es más contundente, las voces de Silenius no varían y demuestra ser toda una autoridad en la materia. La producción también ha mejorado y conduce al sonido de este álbum hacia terrenos más profesionales, eso si no deja de ser un álbum variado que ha prescindido de ciertos matices para ganar en partes sinfónicas y eso si sabe mantener una atmósfera mística y oscura. SOLAR DEITY - INTERVIEW

Good evening, thank you very much for agreeing to answer these questions, how everything in Mumbai?

A very good evening to you! It's raining heavily in Mumbai.

1. Solar Deity born in 2011, why do you choose to create the band does it have anything to do with the creation of Solar Deity with the abandonment of Demonic Resurrection?

It has nothing to do with any other band. I just wanted to play black metal.

2. How complicated is balancing work in Exhumation more oriented Solar Deity death with more black?

Exhumation is over. I am focusing on Solar Deity and a few side projects now.

3. With the recent addition of Animesh Das, Amogh Sharma and Niraj Singh Chauhan, do you think that training is now more stable and can afford recording an album?

We have Niraj Singh Chauhan (lead guitar) and our old drummer Yash Pathak, and I'm on rhythm guitar and vocals. We're a 3-piece band and are working on the next EP.

4. How how to work on the songs in Solar Deity, we all contribute ideas or rules established by a leader followed? How has it changed the sound of the band over the years?

I have made all the music so far, but I'm looking forward to Niraj's contributions. Niraj Singh Chauhan is an excellent composer, and it'll be great working on ideas together.

5. Marduk, Burzum or Bathory influences are more or less present in your music, do you think you are correct comparisons? What would be your biggest musical influences?

We listen to all styles of music, so there's a bit of everything. Our style changes with every release, so you'll hear a lot of different influences. 

6. Your texts are about Satanism, devil worship, why consider these interesting topics to write about them?

We write about feelings and experiences as well. I'm a LaVeyan Satanist and I find dark stuff interesting, so we sing about the devil and other dark stuff...

7. Sincerely to be an oriental band is almost testimonial find your culture influences in your music or texts, is something Western orientation is predetermined in your music?

I've grown up listening to Western music, so our music takes that direction, but influences from our own culture do seep in... We don't try to make these things happen and we don't try to control them either. It feels good when the music has a flow and things fall in place. 

8. Is there a black scene really settled in your country or else you are an exception? Any new band we should know about?

There are a few other bands, but I'm not in touch with anyone. 

9. Which means to you black metal? How did you get started in the black?

Black Metal is my favourite subgenre of metal. The music touches my soul and I love everything about it. I started listening to Black Metal 15 years ago, when I was 17. 

10. Who designed the cover of Devil Worship and how it relates to music?

Our manager Aakash Dwivedi designed the artwork. It is very imposing, especially if you compare it to his previous work. I think it fits the music perfectly. 

11. Are you satisfied with your last ep reception by the public? With Devil Worship? Consider that ye have crossed borders and has done justice to your music?

Yes, Devil Worship has done well and we are content. A lot of people are now checking out our other releases, and we are glad the music has reached so many black-metal fans around the world. 

12. What future plans do you have for the band regarding upcoming concerts and releases?

We are going to keep releasing EPs and singles, and we will play one or two shows a year.

ORKBLUT - THE RETALIATION (1994)

Tal vez suene un tanto pretencioso definir este Ep como la obra cumbre de Abigor, pero lo cierto es que estos veinticinco minutos de black metal son de lo más interesante que han compuesto la banda y lo dice alguien que comenzó escuchando sus obras más recientes y que no comprendía porque se le consideraba una banda de culto, pero es ahora cuando rebuscas en los comienzos de Abigor cuando uno se da cuenta y comprende el porque de su influencia. Orkblut es una obra conceptual que gira en torno a la vida de un guerrero desde el momento de su nacimiento hasta que muere glorioso en el campo de batalla, pero más allá de este concepto hay que hablar de la música y es que una vez más consiguen un sonido impresionante, muy variado y tremendemente pagano. Orkblut debería de ser entendido no como un Ep de once temas sino como una sola canción con sus diferentes giros en la composición. Abigor a sabido mantener el estilo forjado en "Verwüstung / Invoke the Dark Age" pero añadiendo más elementos folk que da a su música ciertos paralelismos con lo pagan. Se ha perdido un cierto protagonismo de las batería, la guitarras suenan melódicas y las voces vuelven a provenir de ultratumba, pero como elementos a añadir debemos de contar sobre todo con unas partes acústicas que corren a cuenta de una flauta y de guitarra limpias y que ejercen de nexo de unión entre temas. Tremendo despliegue de una banda que creo que con la trilogía "Verwüstung / Invoke the Dark Age", "Orkblut - The Retaliation" y "Nachthymnen (From the Twilight Kingdom)", se forjó la bien merecida reputación de banda clásica en la escena. VERWÜSTUNG / INVOKE THE DARK AGE (1994)

El primer disco de los austriacos se puede englobar dentro de la corriente imperante en la época, black metal clásico de principios de los noventa en donde los grupos comenzaban a enriquecer su sonido con la aportación de matices procedentes de la incorporación de teclados, no muy presentes en este álbum, y un mayor trabajo de guitarra para conseguir una ambientación más folk o pagana. Abigor demuestran desde el comienzo del álbum un gusto por los pasajes tristes y melancólicos de ambientación satanista. El trabajo de guitarra es soberbio, afiladas y melódicos aportando en muchos momentos un aire medieval o folk y llevando en la mayoría de los casos en peso de la composiciones. Las voces son tremendamente apropiadas, sonando agónicas y sufriendo en cada estrofa. Los blast beats son correctos, no tienen gran protagonismo, pero cumplen. Por último los teclados sin llegar a aportar un aspecto de sinfónismo al conjunto si que están presentes para envolver la música en una capa siniestra e inquietante. Un álbum que es un perfecto ejemplo de las posibilidades que podía ofrecer el género a comienzos de los noventa y que me atrevería a tildarlo de clásico y fundamental para entender el black a día de hoy.
