ABHORRENT FERVOR (2021)

Cuarto larga duración para los franceses en donde entregan un álbum de contrastes, abrasivo por momentos y en donde no se ciñen a un estilo concreto, ofreciendo momentos de death, de black o de progresivo con ciertas dosis de disonancias y experimentación . La audición de este "Abhorrent Fervor" resulta ciertamente compleja, a veces podemos confundir cierta sencillez de recursos con un trasfondo de mayor complejidad en un álbum de giros y fuertes contrastes. Un buen número de riffs salpican y nutren las composiciones, con reminiscencias black o thrash pero haciendo hincapié en la variedad y la amplitud de los mismos, dejando fluir secciones que tanto tienen que ver con elementos progresivos echando manos también de secciones cercanas al death, como aquellas otras que quieren transitar por terrenos más cercanos a elementos melódicos. En un primer momento la inmediatez y agresividad de la propuesta no dejan entrever otros elementos en donde su música deja espacio para que la propuesta fluya en secciones mucho más ricas en matices, con riffs que se retuercen en si mismos, cambios de registro casi imposibles acompañados de deferentes intensidades y secciones que inviatan a hablar de cierta experimentación, todo ello aderezado por elementos en donde podemos reconocer un hilo conductor que tiene su referentes en elementos progresivos. La batería juega un papel fundamental en la variedad de elementos que pueblan este álbum, ofreciendo un buen puñado de diferentes intensidades y patrones que van desde los más veloces a otros mucho  más digamos que etéreos. Si a todo esto añadimos unas voces que saben desenvolverse con soltura en las partes más directas de la música en una vertiente agresiva y cruda, junto a otras más metal, perfectamente intercaladas en las instrumentación, tenemos en definitiva, un trabajo que hay que degustar con calma y tiempo para dejarse atrapar y descubrir una propuesta que se hace fuerte en estilos como el death/black de corte progresivo.
