Sonido muy personal el de Drowning the Light, que aunque se apoya en otros músicos no deja de ser el proyecto personal de Azgorth. En esta compilación nos sorprenderá sobre todo el sonido, ya que gira en torno a sintetizadores, ruidos inconexos y sobre todo en gran medida mucha experimentación. Sirva de orientación la nota que acompaña al mismo :"No todos ustedes comprenderán este material, ni debería hacerlo", y es que eso es precisamente con lo que nos vamos a topar, un sonido complejo y al cual el oyente tiene que mostrar cierto estado de animo para llegar a empatizar con el mismo.
