HIIDENHAUTA - INTERVIEW

1. The band was born in 2012, why did you decide to create the band? What does the name Hiidenhauta refer to and why did you decide to use it?

Tuomas: Our (me and bassist Henri) last band Taivaannaula has just quit, and couple of months after Emma proposed to create the new band. I was immediately in and asked also Henri to join. And then almost accidentally we found Eetu, Otto and Gastjäle very soon. When we thought the name, I said it has to be something new and different, I mean if someone would write it to Google, there are us, not ten similar bands or things. And then Hiidenhauta just came. It means “The grave of the Hiisi”. And Hiisi is some kind of dark power of forest and also an ancient sacred place there.

2. Throughout these years, Hiidenhauta's line-up has remained practically unchanged. Are you a band of friends who enjoy the music they make rather than a business and hence endure over time?

T: Yes, only Gastjäle has left and we didn’t take anyone on his place. We are friends who enjoy the music and only we know what it should be. Of course, there has been lot of problems and issues between us, but here we still are. Music is the most important thing and everyone of us knows that!

3. How was the writing and recording process for Riivin? How is your way of working in the studio? How do you think your sound has evolved compared to your previous album “1695” from a couple of years ago?

T: First four song ideas of the new album were already composed at the same time our last album “1695” was still waiting its release. I think it was fall 2017. And those songs came from our guitarist Otto. They showed us some kind of direction. Then we almost broke up, there was lots of issues and problems. But we got over them, and in summer 2019 we started to write more new material. Our bassist Henri composed four song also and I composed one song. And then I found great theme for the album: “The Devil in the Finnish Folklore.” I wrote lyrics as the songs came ready and when the winter came, we had all new material in our hands and went to the studio. We were there about 4-5 months. This was the first time when we didn’t give any example what we wanted to sound like. Our recorder has been with us in every album so he knew what it should be. And I think we took a big step forward with sounds and atmosphere. And what became “1695” album, now we didn’t use piano as much. It was Gastjäle’s thing, and because he was not with us anymore, there’s not that much piano parts for example.

4. At first your sound can be framed within the melodic black, however in it we can find sounds that we can qualify as pagan / folk metal and above all what makes it unique and different is the voice of Emma that carries your proposal How will you define the sound of Hiidenhauta on this latest album? And what does Emma bring you when defining the sound of the band?

T: Maybe the biggest part of Hiidenhauta, and what makes us a band we are, is our style to do vocals part. I think anything else could change and we can do any kinds of material and songs, but at the end it still sounds us. Emma’s voice and skill to create atmosphere is a huge thing in our songs and albums. I know there are people who always think that this kind of vocals don’t fit black metal, but we don’t care. We know it fits! Our sound on the new album is dynamic, raw but still clear enough.

5. Your lyrics deal with topics related to the customs, myths and legends of Finland. Why did you decide to deal with these topics in the band's lyrics? And what specific themes have you developed in “Riivin”?

T: The theme of the Riivin is “The Devil in the Finnish Folklore”. I quote myself: In the beginning, the idea was to make a theme album about gnomes and such creatures in Finnish folklore, and other perhaps more invisible characters. However, after reading books like “Myytillisiä tarinoita”, “Suomalainen piru” and “Olevaisen yöpuoli”, it was pretty clear that the theme of the album must be the Devil in the Finnish folklore, which at first glance may seem like a rather worn out subject more than the first thought of it. The Finnish Devil is versatile; it can be a moral guardian, vindictive, cruel, helpful, playful, humane, visible, invisible, and everything in between.”

I have written about myths, history, folklore etc. almost 20 years now, it was just natural to bring these themes also to Hiidenhauta’s lyrics. But we still want them to be versatile, so “1695” was historical theme about The Great Famine of Finland, and the new theme was just something very different. I use poetic kalevalametre in Hiidenhauta’s lyrics, so also it makes quite different kind of rhythm to our vocals.

6. With this “Riivin”, do you consider that you have taken advantage of all the possibilities offered by studios like Ansa Studios? How important is it for you to be able to make use of these studios when it comes time to finish shaping the sound of Hiidenhauta?

T: Ansa studio and our recorder and friend Teemu Heinola has been a huge part of Hiidenhauta sound. We have recorded there our every album and every song and it’s like home to Hiidenhauta. I think we wouldn’t be like this if we were recorded our stuff somewhere else.

7. Who was in charge of the album cover design, what does it refer to and how does it relate to the content of the album?

T: Our cover artist and friend Jamppa Lamminpää has made our every album covers, photoshoots etc. and so this time also. We gave him our songs, lyrics and thoughts and then it came like this. Perfect as always!

8. Have you ever considered taking Hiidenhauta's proposal to a stage to be able to offer a concert one day or, on the contrary, do you not contemplate it?

T: Sometimes we talk about it, but we’ll see. Maybe.

9. You come from the Finnish region of Satakunta, how is the extreme metal scene in your region? How do you see today the health of Finnish black metal compared to a few years ago?

T: There are some bands, but actually we don’t know. We are not a part of any scene or community so these are just guesses. But I think new bands have took bigger role last couple years.

10. How were your beginnings in music: first concerts you attended, first albums you bought? What did you do in your lives that made you want to dedicate yourself to music?

T: Tough question. I started to play guitar when I was 12 years old. But before that there has been a dream about own band, so it has been very long time with me. The first real concert was maybe Nightwish or Tehosekoitin somewhere end of 90’s. And first bought album was Nirvana – Nevermind when I was like 10 or 11. And that’s where it started. But I think I’m poet primarily and lyrics are the biggest thing I can give to Hiidenhauta.

Otto: The first album I bought was Follow the Reaper from Children of Bodom.

Henri: The first albums I bought was Black Sabbath from Black Sabbath and Virtual XI from Iron Maiden.

Emma: I’ve been singing my whole life, as long as I remember. I even got my first microphone when I turned 3 years old! Singing is something I’ve born to do; it makes me happy and is a way of expressing my feelings. At the age of 10 I stole my big brothers metal records, (including Nightwish, Finntroll, Children Of Bodom etc.) and basically sold my soul for metal and music. I even played my big brother’s electric guitar in his room, when he was not home. (Shh, don’t tell him!) As a teenager, my biggest dream was to sing in a metal band, so I think my dream has come true! When I was 16, my grandma and I used to go to our local opera several times, and oh boy, that was something; to hear Queen of the Night aria live was simply magical. I even wanted to study classical music, but the music theory was too much for me to handle, haha! Can’t really remember any first important gigs, but Finntroll was awesome live.

Eetu: As a little boy, I banged all kinds of pots and saucepans I could find and made a lot of noise. My parents rented a drumset for me, and noticed that I played them all my freetime, so they bought me my first drumset. Music is my hobby; it has always been that way, and I find nothing else quite as interesting. To be honest, I haven’t bought many records, except a couple of vinyls!

When Otto and I were in elementary school, we listened to Children of Bodom, Ensiferum and Wintersun. They were pretty badass. And I found some Cradle of Filth from my big brother’s record shelf, it was pretty interesting too.

11. For the release of the new album you will have Inverse Records again, are you satisfied with the work done by Inverse in terms of promotion and editing? Has there been interest from other labels to release the album in other formats?

T: We have been very satisfied with Inverse. Our experience is that our deal is quite good, and everything has gone well, so yet we didn’t have reasons to find another label. Of course, if someone will propose with a new and maybe better deal, we are interested.

12. Which album represents the essence of black metal for you? What albums have you bought most recently?

T: There are lots of awesome albums. I still think the best black metal albums are Verisäkeet from Moonsorrow and Lammendam from Carach Angren. But for example, Bathory and Windir are very important bands to me. Last album I bought was Reguiem – Pianissimo from Virgin Black.

Henri: I think the best black metal album is Filosofem. But most recently I bought Ofnir from Heilung and second-hand pile of Slayer and Death!

13. In a year as complicated as the last due to Covid-19, you have managed to carry out the edition of a new album, how do you think the situation has affected you? How have you managed to keep in touch with your fans?

T: It has not affected us as a band. We keep in touch with our fans via social media as always, so nothing has changed.

14. What more immediate future plans do you have for the band? Are you already working on new songs?

T: Next year Hiidenhauta will be 10 years old, so we hope there will be a new album then and hopefully something special also. We’ll see. But new music definitely.

15. Thank you very much for the time dedicated to Black Metal Spirit, if you want to add something for Hiidenhauta fans this is the place. I hope the questions have been to your liking.

Thank you. Beware of a man.

AUTONOESIS (2020)
I - FOLLOW THE FLOW (2020)
MAAHES - INTERVIEW

1. The band was born in 2015, what led you to create the band? Why did you choose the name Maahes and what does it refer to?

Some of the founders had known each other for a long time and had also played music together for a long time. When we finally got to know our singer, we founded MAAHES.
About the Name… Maahes is a sun god, he is the gatekeeper of the holy place. And if someone gets in his way, he becomes a bloodthirsty predator and causes carnage. Re, light, fire and flame. The flashing lightning and rolling thunder. The lord of darkness and wind. This god is the epitome of our “Ancient Metal”.

2. With a first Ep released in 2016, it is not until 2020 that they continue in the form of a full album with the edition of “Reincarnation”, what has happened within the band to take their time between both releases?

To be honest, most of the time delays are due to private and above all professional reasons. The first version of the album was already mastered in 2017. However, this version was a high-end production. This didn't fit with MAAHES, because the atmosphere of our music didn't come across. We put a lot of work into it and produced the album a second time in collaboration with Florian Dammasch (Eis, Ash of Ashes). “Reincarnation” was then completely finished in February 2019 after final graphic revisions (including a renewal of the logo). It was a few more months before we had negotiated the deal with MDD Records. After all the hardships we had to push the release back again due to Covid-19.

3. How was the composition and recording process for this “Reincarnation”? How has the sound evolved with respect to your previous EP? What brand of instruments have you used for the recording and what main difference can we find with the instruments? what do you wear for concerts?

The style of MAAHES has basically remained the same, but “Reincarnation” will feel much more malicious because we experimented a lot with keys and generally gave the album an old-school aura. The colder style of Horus' singing is definitely worth mentioning, too.

4. The sound of “Reincarnation” contains black elements of course, some keyboards and thrash elements, all with a dark atmosphere that may remind the sound of bands like Dimmu Borgir on the one hand or Venom on the other. How would you describe the sound of your last album for those who have not heard it yet? What bands have a clear influence on you in terms of sound?

I would also describe us with the bands you mentioned. I would also mention Dissection, Immortal, and Dark Funeral. We've all been listening to these bands around the clock for years.

5. Your previous Ep offered a theme related to Greek mythology, however for "Reincarnation" you take a turn to cover Egyptian mythology, why this change? What attracts you to not only Egyptian mythology but also to the Greek to focus on it when writing your texts? What can you tell us about the conceptual history that is offered in the lyrics of “Reincarnation”?

It was a long way before we even discovered Egyptian mythology. To explain this, I have to go back a bit. When the band was founded, one thing was clear to us: We want to stand out from other Black Metal bands in terms of concept. This is also the reason why neither a religion nor Norse mythology came into question as a concept for us. In the beginning we focused on Greek mythology and wrote our first songs. In the course of time we became aware that we did not want to implement this concept in the long term, as it would have created a lot less scope for the entire implementation of our works. We would have restricted ourselves too much with it.
After the final selection of the band's concept, the band name Maahes was also
determined, which should have been in June / July 2015. Now to your actual question, what fascinates us so much about Egyptian mythology. I would not say that the Egyptian concept corresponds more to us than the Greek because of the mythology, it is much more related to the whole of ancient Egypt. The mysterious, the puzzling, the unbelievable knowledge, just think of the building of the pyramids, the cult of the dead, and so on. This concept offers us astonishingly many possibilities and a lot of room for interpretation in the poetry. These are the things that inspire us today and also confirm that we have made a good decision with it.

6. Who was in charge of designing the album cover? How does it relate to the music and concept of the album and what do you intend to reflect with it?

The designer of the album was Caio Caldas from Brazil, who has worked for Doro and Dragonforce, among others. The art is intended to illustrate the dark atmosphere of the album: shortly after his reincarnation, the “Master of the Black Arts” is standing in front of the pyramid where he was interred and is conjuring up chaos again. It‘s also worth mentioning the hourglass with the skull, which represents the transience of life and the passing of time. On closer inspection, even more details can be discovered that allude to death or reincarnation, respectively.

7. In a year as complicated as the current one due to Covid, how have you been affected in terms of sales and promotion of the new album? How have you been able to keep in touch with your fans at this time?

Of course everything would have gone better without Covid, but luckily we were able to play a few distance concerts and bring our CD to the people. Most of the advertising, like everything else, was done online and through magazines.

8. You come from a relatively small population such as Grafenau, is it difficult to carry out a black metal band in such a small place or today thanks to new technologies this is not an impediment to make yourself known? On the other hand, How is the experience of attending a Maahes concert?

It's incredibly difficult in a small town like Grafenau. Unfortunately we only have a small scene in the Bavarian forest. In general, however, I would say that the response to our concerts is good despite everything and the metalheads in the area are also very satisfied with it.

9. How were your beginnings in music: first concerts you attend, first albums you buy? What happened in your lives made you want to be musicians?

Because of our parents, we've all always listened to heavier music. You just heard bands like Black Sabbath, AC / DC, The Scorpions, Motörhead, and so on. That was of course the first concerts and the reasons why we became musicians. Then, as teenagers, we slowly turned down the hard way. This is where bands like Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom, Dissection, and so on, came into play. And so everything took its course.

10. How did the opportunity to edit your album through Black Sunset come about? Are you satisfied with the editing and promotion work done by the record label?

We introduced ourselves to different labels and at Black Sunset everything worked out. We are very satisfied with the label and would also be willing to work together in the future.

11. Which album represents the essence of black metal for you? Which German black metal band do you consider to have been the most important for you as a reference? What recent albums have you bought?

For me personally, the essence of Black Metal is represented by "Stormblast" by Dimmu Borgir. We never actually took German black metal bands as a reference for Maahes. The last album I bought was the EP "Ritus" from Bestialis.

12. What future plans do you have for the band in terms of upcoming releases, concerts, etc ...?

At the moment we are working on our next album as much as possible. We'd like to do that in 2021. Let's see if it works out. Concerning concerts ... we're trying our best to be able to play a few concerts but it's just out of our hands.

13. Thank you very much for the time dedicated to Black Metal Spirit, if you want to add something for Maahes fans this is the place. I hope the questions have been to your liking.

On behalf of all MAAHES members, I would like to thank you again for interviewing me, and I hope we‘ll get the opportunity to take you all on an unforgettable trip to ancient Egypt at one of our live shows! Metallic Greetings & Stay healthy

1. Enter 02:18
2. Death 06:58
Diverting flow of life into the river unseen Its voice seems clear as if it was there Running beneath my feet I feel nothing numb in the haze With dark veil obscuring me Die! In this carnal form, I exist no more Sources of light appear, up in the distance The river starts to carry me at unbelievable speed Feel unencumbered and free from chains But where does it lead in, this tunnel I see Die! In this carnal form, I exist no more Death! Die before ancient gods, bleed into their realm Formed thine source of light Into the unknown soul wanders on Migrating without a chance to return I see my fleshly shape decay, Decay! As the ground suddenly fades, my consciousness levitates Into the unknown soul wanders on A glimpse of what I was still haunting me Losing track of senses from it all I fade away As I fall for what seems like an eternity Into the fires Diverting flow of life in from the river unseen Its voice seems clear as if it was there running behind of me I feel nothing losing my gaze, darkness surrounding fast Death! I feel my time has come In this carnal form, I exist no more Death! Die before ancient gods, bleed into their realm My journey to them, my journey through Hell!
3. Imperium Romanum 06:09
Bleed. By blood formed its way as floods, upon those coming days be done. Black sorcery from tongues that praised the light, shalt echo to this day. They answer to nothing, no gods, no kings, no shame, thou terror reign supreme. Sinners brought out from the crowds of sheep, slain to fuel their ways. It rose up from the end of time, retaliation and defeat. What is built on foundations beyond the truth, must all meet the same fate. So blood forms it way as floods, upon the cursed streets tonight. Black river shine, shimmering in the moonlight whilst screams of children fade. They answer to nothing, no gods, no kings, no shame, same terror reign supreme. The same that thought they could pass away the lie, still manufacturing the end. Behold the symbols proud struck in the ground. Generation grows to the next, same wicked ways. Like beheading a reptile with infinite heads. Frustration grows as a test of the walls once built. Commanding the strength of your herd to fit in the frames. Pressure forming under the lid bound to explode. And all shall fall. In torment turned from their ways, hatred that blistered within. Sought the reason of meaningless pain, submission through agony. And blood of young and old unite, drained upon your roads today. Back from the dead, at least so they said let's see how long it lasts. We answer to nothing, no gods, no kings, no slaves, still terror reign supreme. But our last breath brought, a spark for coming flame. That would both steel and iron melt. In torment turned from their ways, hatred that blistered within. Sought the reason of meaningless pain, submission through agony. Beholding the symbols pride stuck in the sands. Generation grows to the next, same wicked ways. Beheading the reptile, still infinite heads. Frustration grown was the test, no walls, cand hold. Commencing the hour of dread to cross the line. Pressure formed under the lid found to explode. Nothing hinders the minds of the lost, to find their way. All shall fall when times running out, again and again.
4. Summoning 07:19
Autumn winds shelter the warmth from within. Carrying whispers from a source unknown. In astral light crowns of the trees are withering. Shapeless terror in the summoning. Dark speech in foreign tongue releasing the bonds to the earth. Ancient spirit undying awakened to the call once more. In black gathering masses midst the shades so dark. Chants to awaken slumbering one cutting like knives through the shelter. We summon thee! Rise from abysmal rifts. We call upon thy name! Non spoken since the dawn of our time. Elysian fields we give you to scorch feed on their orchard of lies. The might thou possess leaves our oppressors besieged by fear for the upcoming torment. Ominous! Signs of despair. The skies weep, they bleed and clouds black as charcoal covers a full moon. Spirit light of the abyss, reveal thyself and remember! The ground shook beneath, with sounds of vicious thunder rocks were cracked. Through the darkest depths in rifting chasms, the breath of the ancient roared. Reveal thy inevitable pandemonium. Lord of chaos and a thousand plagues, trumple, crush and burn in thy wake. Summoning! By the pure blood that burns within our veins, descendants to a beast that once raomed free. Creature that dwells beneath the crust at fathomless depths soon to enter our realm. Spirit of ancient sleep remember we awake thee from restless dreams. Autumn winds shelter the warmth from within. The air is carrying a whisper from a source unknown. In astral light crowns of the trees are withering. Shapeless terror in the summoning chilled to the core. Dark speech in foreign tongue releasing their bonds to the earth. Ancient flame undying, awakened by the call once more. And the beast was spawned, awaken to the chanting of the mass. Revealed to us in its true form and released upon the earth. Zi Dingir Tiamatu kanpa Ati Me peta Babka! Zi Dingir Tiamatu kanpa Ati Me peta Babka! Zi Dingir Tiamatu kanpa Ati Me peta Babka! Zi Dingir Tiamatu kanpa Ati Me Peta Babkama Luruba Anaku! (Spirit god of the abyss remember. Gatekeeper open your gate for me.)
5. Pallbearers Hymn 06:20
Deemed Invincible first to fall. Fasade like plated steel on fragile bones. Decaying meat, heeding reapers call. Sown like the grain we are, just as knowing of the infinity. Vast and full of nothing.

Destructive hands in reach, is and will always be what we are. Nothing but expiring mass.
Consciousness and experience will one day be meaningless. Drifted is a void, enter nothing.
6. Final War 05:07
Clip by clip, brass and lead mixed in cauldron by the damned. Sick salvation, rips through armor, punctures the target defiling flesh. Chants from killers hunting the fields, determination drives them on. Eradication to all life, sparks blister through toxic haze. A barrage of untamed hate, salute to coming king. Be not deceived, for a serpent wears the crown of which thee speak. Visions vivid, through the ages by the mad foreseen. Ladders of fire burning bright, reaching poison ground. Choirs heard rattling, through of mankind is drawning near. One last war. Slithering and twisting in euphoria, smiles its evil grin and calls to us. Wicked spineless creature harvesting spoils of dark creation. Fighting to maintain peace and prosperity. Innocence raped in a war-torn reality. Death paved the roads to damnation. In its tracks all life is ended. Writing an end to history, scorched earth and raining fire. Epilogue of the human race. Ladders of fire burning bright, reaching poison ground. Choirs heard rattling, through infernal bullets sprayed. Held by grip of fear, finding it more difficult to grasp the senses. No power in empty words, finding cover whilst the planet burns.
7. Possession 06:42
Eyeless watcher projecting no light. Creeps up from within, travels to the altar. Lay exstinguished fire of sin ablaze. Then torments my soul, safe nowhere no more. This earthbound vessel for it to be in control. Seeking escape routes through the labyrinth. A path from the most obscure to clarity. Constantly feeding the entity, unknowingly gifting it attention. The torment grows strong, I feel alive no more. Earthbound vessel, I left for spheres above. Now seeing the aura of damnation. Settle the fog before it fades, away with my sanity. Unholy watcher, proceed to state of life. Crept up from within, traveled to the altar. Spread the fires of sin ablaze. Still the torment goes on, seeing my vessel walk tall. Last sight of infernal grin, as it fades into the mist. Witnessing the ultimate defilement. Lost track of nightmares and reality. Sweet concubine, arisen from the pain. Thy enlightenment shall come to me. My eyes could never shield me, and it was to pure. The remnants of my soul. Gathered shards attracted sin, invited to ritual within. Grasping my final breath, before I let go floating away at last, beyond constriction of flesh. Before I go insane. My concubine, in torment thou relief shall set me free. Your eyes cannot deceive me. I see what's pure, when the embers take its toll. Gathering shards of energies within. Invited thee to my ritual of sin. Torment is gone, feel nothing no more. Earthbound vessel faded long ago. Fires still burn in the distant fog. Sounds of the rituals echoes to end of times. Although time is irrevelant to new found reality. Search for escape no more, found solace without my will. Choose to not see, banished from thy skin. Earthbound vessel possessed by other being.
8. North 07:55
Far from the cradle of life, pinnacles risen from northern hemisphere
Adjourn if you dare, through the mists of the fjord
Climb the heights of mountains, through storms that whip
The tundra calls, North! With dire hunger, through the wild you wander
The stars will guide you, North!

Before you stands this pedestal through which clouds can pass
And upon her feet the growth of untamed wild, with riches buried deep in stone
By night in rhythmic movement, skies ablaze, North!
In sight the lightning strikes, with ancient rumble, North!

In constant presence of hidden energies
Spirits whose names are uttered now in secrecy

Naud, Odal, Reid, Thurs!

Far from home you have come, if you quest these heights
Hardened by treacherous waves and elusive lights
Climbed the highest mountains, through storms that whip
Heed the call, North! In dire hunger, the wilds you conquered, with skies that guide you North!

Stand still and listen to wisp of wind
Silence, the mountain speaks

Naud, Odal, Reid, Thurs!

Silent voices conjured a thought within, a change of spirit or fear if you will.
Masked forces of the wild settled in, at first invisible to the beholder
Thoughts that you will not be making it back at all
Leaving soul behind in barren wastes
Between the rocks that guard both sanity and sickness
To were all unpleasantries of the mind is sent
But stay resilient and strong of the will, and learn wisdoms forlorn
Hear the speech carried on a gailing wind, written with treacherous eyes of the bog
To where serpents gather on sunburnt stone, a carcass left of beast stripped to the bone
An offering to the gods of north so that one may venture forth
Stand still and listen, to the wisp of wind!

Far from the cradle it spawned, beauty risen this pedestal
Through endless hardships and tests it has come to be
Wooded wilds and tundra, snow and ice
Lingering ancient spirits, North!
By the hammer and forgotten runes, we call to thee, North!

Naud, Odal, Reid, Thurs!
9. Schaman 10:43
Tyrants move up to the north, claiming that they civilice in peace. Preachings of there lord spread like wildfire, the will of their king forced upon all. Weaker minds converted at once, without and question they swallowed their pride. Many were not inthe state of submission, willing to give up their faith. But insculence came at a price, some were not willing to pay. The old ways were shun, destroyed and ridiculed, as with the priests of the woods. Tyrants that moved to the north, chaining and caning in peace. Preachings of their peace loving lord and the king of their astral decent. All forgotten when facing defiance, building stakes for burning and bring forth the whips. Conversions would not be a miss. Bleeding eyes, stares at the crowd a martyr of olden ways. Cursing the people and the crosses they wear, submitting to agony. Pain! Scorched by flame! Cut with blade! In ropes and chains. A living corpse. It is the blood that flows in thee, mixed with the tyrant brings uncertainty. But lines are shared with martyrs blood, relentless will summoned from within. Scorched by flame! Cut with blade! In ropes and chains, a curse eternal. This is the blood that flows in me, mixed with the tyrants most certainly. But lines are shared with martyrs blood, relentlessly summoned from deep within! The blood icing screams live vivid in me, await to be chosen by the gods. To lay waste upon creation, with same flame that scorched my ancestors. The blood icing screams live vivid in me, await to be chosen by the gods. To lay waste upon creation, spawned by mindless illusions. Tyrants that moved up to the north, claimed that they civilized in peace. Preachings of their lord spread like wildfire the will of their king forced upon all. Weather minds converted at once, without any question swallowed their lies. But those that were not in state of submission, and willing to pay the price. For defiance, taking its toll, those strong in their minds may hear. Wisdoms brought down in the shades from the church of olden ways. Pain! Scorched by flame! Cut with blade! Screams echoed, never dies. The wise passed down their knowledge in tools once burnt. Same scorching flame that still only put fear in the unenlightened. Emptied of their will to fight, submitted to groundless belief. Isolated from the truths of their sphere, embers like phoenix resurrected. From ashes that covers the ground of this lands foundations.

ABREACTION (2020)
1. Beneath the Waves 05:11
In the oceans we sailed Weightless bodies Floating to our next Destination The sky The sun The heat of all our decision in our minds What do you know What do you feel Is all you know Really Even Real Cold swells Beneath, my feet Numbing entity White Sand, Warm Breath, Life Ends, Then Begins The sky The sun The heat of all our decision in our minds What do you know What do you feel Is all you know Really even real Blistering heat, beneath the waves White Sand, Warm Breath, Life Ends, Then Begins
2. Divinity 05:52
As the moon steadily grows The shadows know my fate Fear no longer bound To this mortal soul Bring me fire Light this world Burning Desire For new growth As the sun, reaches noon Blinding rays, simple truths To this world, or the next My soul, will find its fix Bring me fire Light this world Burning Desire For new growth
3. To the Edge of Life 05:39
   Burdened by his own fear
Burdened from the weight of many years
Carried within, his soul and mind
Stumbling across the mountain side
Master of his destiny
His fate within his grasp
Sworn to all
And sworn to none
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
The vision of the past
The vision of the future
Drawing us to what’s next
Scrutinized, objectified
A pedestal of society
Our blood was born
Our hate was torn
But we never lost sight
Death can bring us to the brink
Life can take us to the edge
Staring into a void
A visage is worn
The figure, the shadow, the nightmare
The vision of the past
The vision of the future
Drawing us to what’s next
Scrutinized, objectified
A pedestal, of society.
4. A Convocation of Spirits 06:23
In the midst of the night
I could feel the warmth
Ever longing
To be cared for
Always longing for the dark to subside
Wishful thinking
Couldn’t bring you
Couldn’t bring you
Back to life.
Where do you go now
Is there another life?
Can you still hear me
From the other side?
As I whisper your name
Do my thoughts reach you?
As i whisper your name
Do my thoughts reach you?
Listening for your answer
But i’ll listen forever
There’s nothing left here
But the cold dirt and your name
Where do you go now
Is there another life?
Can you still hear me
From the other side?
5. Euphorica 05:10
Below the castle lies A graveyard built on A thousand years of lies Blood that bathed the ground Hateful, inhuman screams abound Forgotten, abandoned by their own race How will we speak of the atrocities Performed by our own hands In the name of science and progress We thought We had created a better world We’re wrong All that is left is blood on our hands And now that atonement has come Will you sacrifice? The freedom to live our own lives That which we cannot forsake And now that your clemency arrives Will you remain the same With every day lost The memories begin to fade Unspoken, a scar in our conscience The loss of our humanity The freedom to live our own lives That which we cannot forsake And now that your clemency arrives Will we repeat the same mistakes
6. Drowned 04:35
  The right of passage
Through the oceans mists
A siren that was sounding
A voice inside my head
I followed your every word
And left my cupboards bare
And into the ocean we sail
Drowned by the gods of despair
With each passing hour
My lungs are filled to the brim
Emotionless whispers
The scent of a maiden so fair
I followed your every word
And left my cupboards bare
And into the ocean we sailed
Drowned by the gods of despair
The darkened waters
Depths of hatred and toil
The pleas of the helpless
As they plummeted into hell
Drowned, deeper
Into the oceans trench
Drowned and feeble
Nothing can save me now
7. Cold Viscera 05:26
Drifting through the sky Holding onto the night With these dreams, I enter anew Realm which can be alight Honor and pride that which fuels the fire Born into this sacrifice Fodder for war, blood of kings and fathers Of the holy orthodoxy Shine, Bring forth your light Given unto the night With thine eyes, watch it unfold Looming towards the afterlife Corruption of mans weakened souls Stumbling in foolish naivety Devoured by his own lust Sworn to a life of depravity Heaven above hath these things foretold Majesty to thee ascribe Heaven above watch these things unfold I will put these nations to the sword Divine! Blessed with inordinate glory Bespoke sword of justice and will Given now, unto me with thy trust Enlisted to bring forth redemption Within waves of sorrow Bloodied blades will clash, decrying with fear The light shall be blinding And the heavens shall pronounce With glorious sounds Heaven above hath these things foretold Majesty to thee ascribe Heaven above watch these things unfold I will put these nations to the sword To the sword Cold viscera, segmented limbs Heaped upon the soil
8. All That Is Unknown 05:13
   Wander, through thy dreams
Creation of a full moon sky
A vision within thy mind
Pictures flood
A withering garden
The vision unfolds behind my eyes
For now I see through a glass darkly
But here face to face;
As things are, and yet are not
Thoughts that were fragmented
And put away begin to assume personality
All that is unknown lay up in store with dragons
A yearning in my innermost being
To answer a call, leave the father’s house
And see the things I dread the most
Beholden to no one, I will crush them beneath my wrath
Consciousness is woven into the fabric of the universe
Planets formed and broken, skys erupt in flames, I am…
The Master of All
I am Sovereign
I am the king who reigns
Blood poured out, in worship
Reflect my coming Age
9. Iconoclasm 04:36
  What have I become
A leader of a tribe
A tribe who hates their God
Their countenance has fallen
A cold and bleak horizon stretched across our time
Am I real? Am I real?
The foundations of mountains are set ablaze, and the tongues of men confounded
I have left nothing alive of the enemy; their people are as a fading memory
Precious stones and pearls I have piled up with their bodies to be burned
Not one cattle, neither the vestiges of their Gods have I taken for the spoil
And yet my children rose up to play
Tempted away by such gilded nothings, the seeds of dissension were sewn from within
Wandering eyes found fixed upon the bust of the Whore of Babylon
A gradual pollution has caked the walls of their lungs
Breathing the fumes of dead flesh
Bones scattered in the ashes
They have sewn shut the mouths of prophets, urging them:
"Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits,"
"Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Lord to cease from before us."
Rolling and writhing in the mud, like unto beasts
Sinking into the bottomless pit
